Look at what these Fucks are doing...
I just read your prepared letter to the congress and quite frankly if you are calling yourself a professional organization, well then you are misrepresenting yourself to the masses. I will refer to your own letter below:
On April 23, 2010, Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona signed SB1070 into law. SB1070 empowers police officers to stop and interrogate every individual in the state regarding his or her citizenship status and makes it a crime to be an undocumented person in Arizona. If a person does not immediately present documents proving that he or she is legally in the US, s/he may be criminally prosecuted for trespassing, jailed, and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for deportation.
The bill contains no safeguards against racial profiling and increases the likelihood of arbitrary arrest and detention. These are all human rights violations. In passing SB1070, Arizona public officials ignored the fact that all human beings, whether citizens of the state in which they live or not, have human rights.
As Governor Brewer said when signing the bill, national immigration legislation is desperately needed. However, the absence of comprehensive immigration reform does not excuse the governor's own responsibility to preserve, promote, and protect the human rights of every individual in Arizona.
Our immigration system is broken. We need a humane immigration system that respects human rights now! Unfair and arbitrary enforcement that is unrelated to the real needs of our communities and to safety, that disregards family ties, that is arbitrary and out of proportion-all of which describes the Arizona law -has got to stop. I urge you to restore sanity to the system, and to ensure that the human rights of immigrants and refugees are respected in the U.S.
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
First of all...I think interrogate is the wrong word to use in your letter, because the law clearly states that officers will 'question' not interrogate. When a police officer asks you for your driver's license after you went through a red light, would you consider that being interrogated? I don't think so. You are using that word to get an emotional response from people. You are trying to make the police look like a bunch of thugs, pulling people over and asking for papers. This is wrong, this divides people and trying to get your way with tactics like this is unsettling to fair-minded people like me. Next, it is a crime to be an illegal alien in the US period and Arizona is not changing Federal Law, they are just applying Federal Law to Arizona AND ENFORCING IT. Arizona is not doing anything more than what the Feds should be doing. In addition this is in line with the immigration laws of Mexico (actually Mexico immigration laws are more stringent). Your statement that the bill contains no safeguards against racial profiling is and out and out LIE. The bill specifically states that racial profiling will not be used. Officers are only questioning folks that have already been pulled over or stopped for some other infraction (similar to how the seatbelt laws were implemented). Another thing, since when is coming to the United States illegally a HUMAN RIGHT, no right exists to come to MY country, this is a privilege, not a RIGHT, no matter what you BELIEVE. The Governor of Arizona is responsible to the LEGAL citizens of Arizona, not the ILLEGAL ALIENS that you seem to want to protect. They deserve nothing less than being sent back to their homes, in their own country, PERIOD. There are no good ILLEGAL ALIENS, because by the very nature of their existence in MY country, they have broken the laws of my country.
In closing, I would just like you to know that not only is Jan Brewer an oustanding Governor, great American and Patriot, but she is the type of person that should be leading this nation. She has the courage to do what SHOULD be done and not worry about what people like you say or do. She is doing the right thing and majority of the US and Arizona agree...
