Ever think that it would be cool to be able to shot around the corner? Well imma tell you to wait for a new weapon

http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2003/12/61616
Some of you may have seen this weapon on an episode of "Future Weapons" and had the wool pulled over your eyes but I am here to shine the light of truth for you...my ever so wandering sheep.
This weapons system is made in Isreal and I say keep it there!! I wouldnt use this rickity P.O.S. even if it were issued to me.
Heres the skinny on the "Corner Shot":
Its a weapons system that is a HUGE add-on to your glock or other suitable weapons. It is the size of a larger shotgun with a empty section in front for the insertion of the pistol. A camera attached to the front feeds the T.V., which swivels out, so you can watch what the camera see's. The shiny idea to this weapon is your ability to maneuver the section of the system holding the pistol 90 Degrees and in turn "shot around corners". So now that you turned a simple G19 (Glock Model 19) into a "weapon" longer and bulkier then an M16, only able to shot pistol rounds, my question is what else do you carry? I myself have felt the burden of carrying to much gear outside the wire, it sucks...hard! So using this logic, lets walk through this. If I am to carry something this big, I sure as hell want it to shot further the 50M and carrying two weapons plus the gear and ammo that come with them is just to much for the simple pleasure of shoting around a corner. Not to menton people can still see your weapon. Now I know what your thinking "Hey fucko, what about the M16 version they have, its your M16 as a corner shot...problem solved". First, dont call me a fucko...people dont even say that anymore. Second, it solves the pistol problem but creates another!!! I dont want to carry a weapon of the M16 caliber that stands as high as the average 15 year old. Its a monster weapons system. Not to mention it may be accurate for the first month but what do you think will happen to the moveable part after a few clicks and being bumped and banged by the average service member? The wear of the locking mechinisum is bound to give play to the right or left and I know if I got a shot 100M or longer, I want an accurate weapon. The idea is great but the design is flawed. I have seen one of these in real life and Imma tell you that the lever used to move the weapon to the "around the corner" postion is sticky sometimes and loose in others. It does not work as well as it seemed to on the show. My opinion is that I cant wait until something like this comes out thats worth buying. I think they had a great idea but released basically what you could consider a "Beta" version. The next generation corner shots will be well worth the purchase for Special Forces Commands and S.W.A.T. teams everywhere. A word of advise, "Buy the product, not the idea", the idea is for the companies to waste money on not you.

This is a Blog I am looking forward to getting comments on because with something so fresh (the idea) and a product so shitty, I cant wait to see what points I have missed that you all will find!

I think I'll pass. Sounds cool, but really bulky and complicated like you said. I'd rather just toss a frag grenade around the corner if i needed to.
May work for SWAT in a standoff situation, but unless there's a deadly threat, you can't use deadly force. If there is a deadly threat, why not just blow the mother f'er up?

I think the idea is stupid, I'd rather have a very small wireless camera attached to the picitanny rail of my SIG, M16, or any gun that has a picitanny rail, then have it wirelessly feed video into a HUD on my helmet, kinda like the the Land Warrior system. You don't even need a HUD, you can put the screen on a wristband or something. The camera itself would be like a laser sight mounted on your pistol.

Another thing that has a similar purpose and I think is a great idea is the 'camera grenade'. I think it was on Future Weapons, but I can't remember. It's a grenade, heavily weighted on the bottom, with 3 or 4 cameras mounted on the side to provide 360 view. You toss it in, switch to the feed on your HUD and you know whats happening right away. I had the idea that you could load it with a small amount of explosive and have it double as a remote-detonation grenade/mine, only you don't need a line-of sight to use it.

A little to advanced for my taste. I prefer the straight up person to person fighting...but I guess I should get used to all the new technology thats swirling around me.
