sytasyn_syn Posted: June 18, 2008 Ok, I couldnt stay way from that topic for one reason...im in the war right now. Not to mention I almost got an assault charge last time I came home from Iraq when someone wanted to tell me I was a pawn guilty of my masters sins...thats a whole other story.
Back to business. WHY ARE WE STILL AT WAR?
Im going to start out by saying that the job is not done. To some who only catch a glimpse into the war once every five months thanks only to the neo-hippy website they subscribe to, which happens to have found the great truth behind the conspiracy, this statement of "job not all the way done" may confuse you. What I mean by this is we have bombed the shit out of enemy strong holds, broken the ranks of most of the terrorist cells (and I say terrorist cells under a loose definition, because that is what they are), gotten a major figurehead and watched him die on television, and turn the Iraqi army into there nations defensive force. But we still have more work to do like getting there form of government more efficent, training there military, police force and a highway patrol. Getting even more markets and bizzares open. Which I have seen a large amounts of them being open in areas they would have never thought to open a store or business before we got here. Not to mention all the small victories we have had all over Iraq, meaning the ones that mattered to a village or a family or a town. But there is still more work to be done.
I am not saying I know why we came over here in the first place(other then the obvious) but I will tell you this, we have more work to do to set up this country; to make sure all the people I saw fall didnt lose there life in vein and to ensure this country is able to hold its self up when we leave (unless McCain gets in, then we'll never leave)[that was not a political endorsment at all, just a random comment]. To those who would say that we have done nothing but bad out here, and there are alot of you, I say go FUCK YOURSELF. I have seen progress from the first time I came to country til now (+3 years) I've seen those people thanking us and wanting nothing more then to just touch a U.S. Marine and say "Thank you"...and maybe have a muffin or two. I've been blessed by people in the street, I've been in fights were Iraqi citizens have given us information about what the insurgents are doing because they hate them too. I've seen market places and bizzares spring up all around Iraq. We are slowly but surely creating a better country for these people and were doing the best we can. If you think it should be done a different way because you have the answer and the people who have been doing this sort of thing longer then you have been alive are so damned wrong, then you have four options
1. SHUT THE FUCK UP!! I DONT GIVE A FLYING RATS ASS WHAT YOU GOT TO SAY
2. Join the armed forces and claw your way up the ranks to a high enough level to where someone might acually listen to your unwashed hippy shit smelling ass. Which you probaly wont do because your to stoned to do much more then eat Doritos and watch some other fucking worthless waste of a human life moran pollute your brain with non-sense and filth that he came up with one night in his parents basement doped out of his mind on ludes and laced pot.
3. Become a politician and once again claw your way through the ranks to a level where you'll be forced to take a shower and drop the joint long enough to pass a law which you never thought you would pass because everything used to look so clear from the bottem. Until you took that elevator to the 85th floor of the "Opened Eyes Enterprise" and you glance out the window at the big picture for 3 enlightening seconds and realize that you were making dicisions with you head shoved up your ass and only allowing one ill-educated source to funnel information to you in the twisted and mangled way that makes them sound correct and not like the failure in life that his mother knows he is!
4. Kill yourself and stop bothering me at the bar with "facts" and other propaganda (im in the military, I get enough propaganda) that you think will impress me or keep a broken Budweiser bottle from being jammed squarly into the side of your neck
If you havent followed the news on Iraq or been there yourself or even talked to people that have been there then dont you dare come after me with facts you just pulled off of Google five seconds ago trying to tell me im wrong. I got a statistic for you: 9 out of every 10 people how fuck with me about this subject and didnt have the right nor knowledge to hold an intellegent non-gorilla warfare style hit and run conversation have ended up broken and beaten, taken away by medical personal.
I of course am not the type to threaten over the internet because I think we can all can agree that that is about a useful and sticking the wrong end of the fork inside your dick.(is there a right side?) So do not think I am threating anyone, Im just making these journal even more interesting to myself and at least one other person. Besides, I have always felt you should say it how you feel it. And I have!!

I have done 2 tours in Iraq and anyone who has actually been there knows their is way too much needed to be done so there is no way we can pull out. grow up. I am stationed in bagdad right now and I can tell you it is almost as bad as when we arrived the first tour. this is not goint to be a 2 day thing. a war like this will take time so those who cannot figure out why we are still there, I cannot tell you why without you being military but we have a ways to go. As for all those who say this is over oil must not have read anything to do with the war. I am sick and tired of all these people thinking they know whats going on because they watch cnn. GROW UP AMERICA. This was was, and is still over liberating a country that has been opressed for years and years. Over half of iraq didnt even have electricity. Let's see how you would like living that way, oh thats right, america freed us during the revolutionary war. This site sucks, it advertises guns for sale but offers no where to buy them, the people here suck, condemning the people who are over here fighting for freedom (maybe not ours but everyone deserves freedom) and you condemn this country as well, yea you do talking trash about someone who WE DID ELECT is the same as spitting in mother freedoms eyes. THIS IS OUR WAR. WHEN WE FIRED OUR FIRST SHOT IT BECAME OUR WAR. those who complain need to shut up and leave america. I dont see any onf you standing for our country you all hide behind us who do and cry about it.

I am in Kuwait now working as a contractor (26 years active duty) and what you say is the truth. By pulling out, we would be giving up...whether folks agree with the reasons for going in the first place is really a moot point now. We went PERIOD. They should at least see the benefit of what we are doing, but a lot won't/can't. What's worse to me are not the normal citizens...it's the politicians who first voted for action in Iraq and then when it became unpoplular, they complain and whine and say what a mistake it was. These are the true cowards in our country. Now, when I see that we lose any life over here, I am saddened, but we are at war and it will happen, as many have said, "there will be good days and there will be bad days". Now, the good days seem to far outnumber the bad days! I am of the opinion that we can and are making a huge difference (you are) and if we can spread the ideas that people should be free to choose and have basic freedoms, then maybe that idea will spread. The Iraqi people were brutalized as well...you stuck up for those who could not defend themselves...nothing wrong with all of this, that is our country! I applaud you and everyone else who has spent time making a difference! Keep up the fantastic work, stay safe and know that many folks are behind you!

I want to thank all the "real men" either in country or who have served. We need you people. Mainly to defend these CS weenie Liberals who can only talk and never do their own fighting. Lousy pricks & prickettes. Trying to be PC. LOL
If you can read this in English, thank a soldier.
God speed!

Keep on rockin', fuck the bunny huggin, tree bark eatin' hippied puss suckin' fleabags. (Okay, I feel better now).
Thanks for your service. It's troops like you guys, putting it on the line that let's me and my family sleep safe at night.
I've been there.
Most of the attention deficit disorder having, couch potato American civies have their opinions of what others should have to do, that's fine. But until THEY carry a weapon and stick their own ass out to defend the liberties of which they enjoy so well, then they can say all they want with the fear, jealousy and ignorant arrogance in knowing they don't measure up to burn the barrels of a shithouse detail.
It's to those service men & women, who've actually contributed to the cause, (and in some cases ultimately) I salute and am grateful you are out there.
Just my 2 cents....

Not sure if I posted this before...but I watched a Marine two years ago during a bike ride for charity and it was one of the most awesome things I ever saw: We were all riding our bikes from Gettysburg Battlefield to Bethesda Naval Hospital, Washington DC. On the way, we accompanied about 15-20 disabled persons (mostly VETS), with 1 or 2 civilian folks as well. The ride was to bring awareness to the disabled vets (most had lost a leg or both and were on hand-cycles). Well, to make a long story short, we were all riding through a very rural area of Maryland when two or three folks stopped in front of a house because one of the riders had a flat tire on her bicycle. Well, an older lady (about 60) came rushing out to confront these folks. Of course, it was obvious that we were all military (haircuts, flags, Marine, Army, Navy and AF cycling jerseys etc etc. Plus it was well publicized. Anyway, the lady started ranting and raving about the war, about Bush, about everything that was bothering her about the country, politics, war, etc. Anyway, she really dressed down those folks...I stopped halfway through her rant, as did some others. We all wanted to knock her out and throw her out back, but of course we didn't. However, one of the retired Marines came up to her and was so nice, big smile and said, "Mam' we fought all over the world so that you could have the opportunity to say what you like, when you like to whoever you want. That doesn't necessarily mean you should say what you want, when you want, but you do have that right and I and everyone else on this bike ride with me agrees. So, go ahead and say to us what you will, while we fix the flat. We will finish quickly and get away from the front of your house as soon as we can. And, good day to you Mam'"
She didn't say another word...just sighed and went inside. If I was a feel good liberal, it would have brought a tear to my eye...
