Does anyone have any experiance with the .17 hmr for coyotes. I dropped a fox this morning with one and I've thought about trying it out on coyotes. Smaller holes mean more money for the pelt. Any ideas?

I love the varmint grenades, They make squirels pop. Going over to my dads in middle/eastern ky on feb 9th to shoot ground hogs, gonna try them on hogs to see how they work out. I'll post the results.

I shoot 20-40 coyotes a year and the 17 hmr is too light for them except for very close range. Varmint grenades are not available in .17 but I believe they are in .20 now. I just started using them in my 220 swift and while the jury is still out I cant say I'm real happy. They are like an atom bomd when they hit. Not fur friendly. I've heard very good results from guys who use them at slower speeds though. If killing is the only goal then they are fine but for fur, at least in a swift, they are not.

17 hmr should be good for foxes but I have no experience with fox, we don't have them around here. 17hmr will do a yote but not at any reasonable range.

They are popular for some guys and I've heard they are awesome. Apparently the wind moves that little pill around a bit though. I've done most of my shooting with a 22-250 but sold it. Now it's a 220 swift, .223 AR, or a shotty.

I spend a bit of time on Predator Masters amongst other sites. They are coyote nuts over there. Never heard of coyote gods, I'll have to check it out.

Farmers in MO where I used to live offered 35 bucks a piece bounty for coyotes and all I had was a Ruger 10/22 and Enfield No4 Mk2 .303 Brit. Not "fur friendly", but brought me quite a bit of money

If you can't win their hearts and minds, then expose their hearts and minds to open oxygen. WHEN IN DOUBT, THIRTY OUT!!
