wanting to get a 1911 was thinking of a springfield mil-spec or a loaded. first time owner what would be the best one to get any advise
With the 1911, one of the first questions to answer is what is your price range? Whatever it is, I would stay away from the mil-spec model. The fact is that the 1911 is an unreliable weapon in its mil-spec configuration and you will probably end up spending money to make it a good weapon even if you just shoot paper. The loaded models are very good, as are Kimber 1911, both groups go for a reasonable price, or you can go up to the Nighthawk or Wilson Combat-level guns which run 2500 bucks or more and are insanely accurate and reliable as far as the 1911 goes.
i would like to stay around 800 to 900i know they are very hard to hind right now a local dealer has a mil-spec for 575 and a loaded traget for 820 dose that sound right or is that high becouse of the high demand i just want to get a good shooter not a competition gun
the taurus 1911?got all the bells and whisles and at about 600.00 or so not a bad gun.
I have looked at them on gunbroker but my local dealer dont stock them havent got to hold one is it made as well as the others any i should stay away from
I've shot one. Its a great gun. Accurate Feels good in the hand and is really well made.Every seperate piece has a matching serial number. And a life time warrenty.I've got my friend buying one.1911 is not my style but it is a great gun. In your price range you could get a nice used Kimber also.
