1911 Custom Project

Here's a short list of the parts that I want to build my own 1911.

http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=41017/Product/1911-AUTO-PRE-FIT-SLIDE...

http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=31894/Product/TRITIUM-HANDGUN-SIGHTS

As of right now, I'm trying to find a trigger, and hammer that would work with this set.

Most any of the triggers sold at Brownells will fit. That is the great thing about the 1911, most of the parts are interchangable. I would reccomend either Ed Brown or Wilson though.

I prefer the Wilson myself.

Bucket List

That's definitely something I want to start doing. Eventually I think I might like to do that for a living.

I think it would be cool bring a pistol that YOU built down to the range, and show it off, and shoot it and knowing, there's only one like it in the world. I saw this video on Youtube about a guy building his own 1911, but in 9mm. He had the Punisher logo on the hand grips. I was like okay, that's kinda of cool. It was black and white.

Hell yeah Matty

I would paint my cherry red and I know it's a odd color for a pistol, but it would be mine. And I would have painted flames on the hand grips.

Okay

Here's what I would do:

The frame would be metallic blue and the slide would be metallic red and the grips would bear the Superman logo since that's the nickname I picked up in the Academy.

IDEA!

After a visit to my local gun range, where they also do some custom porting, I've given thought to doing another in the theme of The Flash! Red slide, yellow frame, Flash logos on the grips, and porting on the slide and barrel in the shape of lightning bolts!

Thanks for the site, and I've been playing with the color simulator, and it's kinda interesting. Seeing what works and what not
