seems they will work.midway has CMC mags they advertise will work. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/697475/chip-mccormick-shooting-star-mag...

Yes. I have both and don't bother to sort mags. They both have the same receiver, just a shorter barrel and slide on the CDR. The officer model on the other hand has a smaller grip.
MattyTheJet
Is right. Commander, yes, Officer's model, no.

as a perspective 1911 owner,I'm curious here.can you use the commander/gov mags, but they are long,or do they just not fit?
ronin1604
I'm trying to remember, and I think it is mainly that they are long. Also harder to get the after market parts... the specs are the same on all parts as with the Gov model.

i carry my pistol while i work,im a field tech in pa and sometimes my gun gets exposed and im thinking about getting a smaller gun but i fear i might get into a situation in where i might be a hero(God forbid anything happens) but i want the better playing card. i was thinking g26. 9mm and bout 10round other hand officer 1911. more stopping power. is it worth it i pick the officer or g26?

minute. Once you look over what the various bullets/calibers can do you can go back to pondering which gun fits you.

have Hornady Critical Defense in .380.
