28 Gauge ammo Question
Anyone know anything about a 28 Guage Remington-UMC shotty shell? Its loades and live but its basicly has a cardboard type casing. Pretty damn weird of a shell if ya ask me and I will say I aint gonna shoot it. Strange.

were paper or card board as you called it.
They are as safe as any plastic shell you
might shoot.

Not to mention that I find something about paper shotshells classy. I don't know why. I just feel like I'm an Englishman on a fox hunt when I use them.

paper shells & black powder
Snake
its not the cardboard that I am concerned about its just I have never Heard of a Remmie UMC shotty shell before. Know anything on it?
CharlesW
They have been around a long time.
It's a cheaper Remington cartridge.
I've shot thousands of them with no
problems.

Was no school around here
MLK Day was you there all alone ?

Union Metallic Cartridge co. It's one of the companies that purchased Remington late 1800s. UMC purchased the rest of the stock from Winchester in early 1900s, and was bought by Dupont in the 1930s. So the UMC thing is just a manufacturers mark.

I shoot a lot of UMC 357 mags also
Never a problem

I just have the one shotty shell. I am makin a personal collection of ammo. in other words one of each. Like a person who collects stamps I collect ammo types. I am actually doin well in my collection.

If the paper shell is old stock they become
unstable with moisture and swell up.
Not so much dangerous but hard to extract.
That's a lot of the reason for the newer plastic
shells.
Look around for some old brass shells.
Should be some on EBay. Man they look huge

School is goin great,me and my buddy had a blonde moment today though. We both forgot our schedules at home this mornin so we thought our class started at 11:50 am and we got to the college at 8 am and sat down in the lobby area playin card for about 3 hours then went to the class room to find out our class started at 8 a.m. haha so we missed all of our class for the day. but our teacher was ok with it he said "We all make mistakes"
