Who here notices there blood pressure raise to an extreme high whenever they here somebody talk about "controlling", "managing", "regulating" our 2nd Amendment rights!?

I don't see how people even tolerate any politician getting on the subject of changing the 2nd Amendment. It should be one of those topics that shouldn't even be discussed.

For instance, can you see anybody talking about "regulating" your right to free speech? I can't and I don't think anybody would tolerate that. SO, why are people tolerating this attack on our right to bear arms!?

I don't tolerate it. See my list of the Companies & Corps that support anti-gun, anti-2nd Ammendment rights and I boycott them. I don't support ANY sponsor of the Mass Media, TV etc. I will watch their programming but I won't buy anything from a sponsor of theirs. Check out the list in one of my articles.

Better to have a gun and not need it then need one and not be able to get one… And – Why do I carry a gun? Because a cop is too heavy…

My friends; We have fellow citizens who hate the NRA and other proponents of our Second Amendment rights. Some argue that guns kill people. Some ignore the lessons of history taught by events in other countries whose citzenry permitted firearm confiscation. Some just have an irrational fear of firearms. I say to them--if you truly believe we must enact gun control legislation, you had better consider your own survival....you had better be looking for the Islamo-Terrorist train coming down the track at all of us. As one writer put it: "This is the greatest threat to civilization, since the advent of Naziism and Soviet Communism."
Our Homeland Defense "organization" seems bereft of money and brains and our borders and ports are porous and undefended, our magnificent Military is stretched to the breaking point, our State National Guards are decimated, and those in the intel chain tell us that there are presently no less than six al Qaeda cells operating inside the USA. Any guesses as to how we are being infiltrated, or whether the Islamo-Terrorists want to turn this into a silent invasion??
Their espoused objective is to invade and overrun all continents, all democracies therein, and subject all un-believers to one of two choices--accept their version of Islam, or lose your head. So fanatical is their hatred of the freedoms given by modern democracy, that their objective overcomes any rationality or intelligence they may have once had. They truly believe that we must be invaded, both from the inside and from the outside. Even the "fanatical" Japanese were smart enough to realize it would not be a good idea to attempt to invade the USA, at a time when they were ahead in WW II, and we were most vulnerable. They knew even when we were fat dumb and happy isolationists, WE WERE AN ARMED SOCIETY. Consider also, the motives and potential threats of a resurgent Russia, ambitious and bellicose Iran and North Korea, and our covertly ecomomic enemy China.

The world is not presently constructed in a way that supports the repeal of the Second Amendment. Such an action would result in the same kind of REaction that this Country's forebearers had to the British empire. And the leaders of this REACTION will be the group of citizens who can ironically help save us from attack-- none other than the Veterans. They will not sit idly by, and have this cherished freedom taken from them. But, on the other hand, if you believe that the better part of 17 million veterans, armed and trained, are going to permit a successful invasion of their Country, I suggest you need to reassess your idea of reality.
The slippery slope to gun confiscation can easily have us speaking Arabic, Farsi, Russian or Chinese, by decree, in the future.
I leave you with the words of a true WW II hero, when he was being interviewed as a part of the greatest generation; This is a man who, in the first 15 days of the invasion of Okinawa, won every major decoration the Navy and Marine Corps could award, a recommendation for the Medal of Honor, and a battlefirld Commission:
"What were we going to do...let those bastards take this country from us? OVER MY DEAD BODY!"
My sentiments exactly, Uncle...You taught us well.

Good points! I must however expand on your subject line. The second amendment does not have to prevail for our survival. The second amendment is not something magical. What must prevail is our self knowing that we have the right to bear arms. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO SELF DEFENCE! WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO FIGHT BACK! ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT!!!! I CANNOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH.

Government or not YOU have the right to protect yourself and your family NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT'S WHAT I BELIEVE!!!!!!!!

Agree, completely, General Skeeter.

Action: "We will take away your Second Amendment rights"
REAction: "You may do this on paper, but we will never relinquish our arms."

Result: Ergo, we reserve to ourselves the inalienable right of self defense.

is still VERY important, however. It tells the rest of the world, that IF the value system of our Country warns we will not allow ourselves to be oppressed by our OWN government, NOBODY else better try it.
