How is the recoil of the .308 round? Never shot one, looks like an interesting round. Also, how about ballistics???

Isnt the .308 Caliber FN FAL selective fire, or is it semiauto?

Scott, you will have to get your FFL 3 and a CCW. Don't know if you can carry concealed of a type 3 class weapon. But if you can, you da man!

Way back when I was in college [having just returned from the Korean Police Action], I used some of my mustering out pay to buy a Winnie Mod 70 carbine, in 308. It weighed about 6 3/4 pounds, but even so, the recoil was quite easy to handle; It compared to an M1[heavier] and an M1 Carbine{lighter], and more recently to a Springer M1A.
If you study the ballistics tables, you will see that the characteristics of the .308 are very similar to the .30-06.

.308 is one of the most versitile rounds available. It is also one the most efficient rounds. It is the parent cartridge to many of the most popular cartidges. .243, and 7-08 just to name two. Always an excellent choice.
