From 357 to .38

Say I want to use .38 ammo in my Dan Wesson CTG 357 Mag. What would I have to do to go from using 357 to using .38 in it? Would I be able to just stick a .38 round in the 357 cartridge or would I have to swap the cartridge out?

.38

are you talking about hand loading a .38 on a .357 cartridge? im confused. if you just want to shoot .38, you should be able to shoot most factory .38 out of a .357mag with no problem (you just cant do it the other way around)

.38 to .357

Just think of .38 as a .357 short. You can fire .38 specials out of a .357 magnum gun, but you can not shoot .357 magnums out of a .38 special gun.

I use 38

I use 38 for practice and 357mag for defense. Make use you shoot with both though so you can learn how to shoot and keep good bullet placement.

Just a note

If you shoot a lot of .38s it is a good idea to clean your weapon often. I have heard sometimes the fouling can make chambering a .357mag round difficult. This is true of my .44mag. I don't shoot .44 specials anymore. I just download my handloads to .44 special specs. Mostly for practice rounds.
