Straight prune he's not ready for yet. As for me, I spent 25 years in the field and the closest I ever came to dying was from the whole milk, ice cream, bacon, eggs, those 2 inch T-bones I used to love soooooooo much. But bullet poison never got me, well at least it never killed me. Oh hell, I'm glad at least I'm not even ready for the Danish...yet.

Oh gosh I stopped counting how many times when I was still in my 20s! Getting hit is nothing to brag about, so you guess. But I thought, the heart attacks didn't kill me either, but that by-pass surgery hurt. Damn I mean it really hurt! After they woke me up. I don't want to think about being awake while they were still working on me.

greasypaws, contrary to what my oldest boy thinks, and yeah I am very proud of that boy, I don't think I'm going to die from moving from the 5.56 to the 6mm version of the LRLSRS project, but is your reasoning just the Joules we can generate, or do you have something tastier for me than that? It's tough on the boy trying to interpret what's really on an adult's mind, but it's just because he's really just a loving and trusting boy. He loves and he trusts everybody. He does, and you can't fault a boy for being loving. Trusting, well I figure time and experience will teach him better than anything I ever could. What do you think? I would at least like to try a couple of prototypes of the 5.56mm idea, but after looking at the four major types earlier this morning, there is a place for the 6mm and the 6.5mm you guys have come up with. The thing is, it's been done before in something like what you're all talking about on the team. In Sweden and Norway at the turn of the 19th century they they were doing a 6.5 x win .300.

even the 6.5x55 swede is no slouch!bump it up to modern pressures to be used in a modern weapon and i think we would all learn new respect for it!remember,this and a few other cartridges were designed at a time when metallurgy was still young.with a modern barrel and higher pressures this and others to include even the .243 win. would really rock!and how can anyone think that the 5.56 is a viable cartidge with all of the complaints that are coming out of the hot zones!and all this before i even finished my breakfast!
