38 special HBWC question
I reloaded some 38 specials this weekend. They are hollow base wadcutter target loads. I seated the hollow base forword. Can I still shoot these? Should the hollow base be rear with powder and primer? Should be able to answer that, maybe pm him. He reloads several calibers 38 being one of them.

Yeah, someone did this recently. It might have been Vaq, but I don't remember. I see what I can dig up and get back w/ you.

Demo, as long as the powder charge is per load data and overall cartridge length is in spec you'll be fine shooting those. Actually that's an old defense load used by target shooters. Lol! To answer your second question, yes, the hollow base goes in the casing adjacent to the powder. The flat "nose" should just protrude above the case mouth. Good luck loading and happy shooting.

i just assumed the hollow would be front until my dad called me a dumbass.......

The hollow base is designed to expand when hit by the gas to create a better seal down the bore, but it won't blow up or anything.
