I'm finding myself strangly aroused by this round...... Anyone have any first hand experience with it?

The .458SC is the best of the bunch IMHO for big-bore ARs. The bullet weight band for it is really wide (200-500+gr), and it uses unmodded AR mags in most cases. Solids, JHPs, JSPs, all sorts of badness available (tons of .45acp, .458W, and .45-70 pills can be made to run it in .458SC with the right loading equipment/data).

CorBon and SBR for factory ammo, both with several good choices. Pricey but ANYthing gunwise .50-ish is always costly.

Like any bigbore AR, there is a LOT of powder being burnt, so running it in a very short or very long barrel, full auto or with a can typically presents some issues.

I've never hung on to any bigbore AR for any length of time.....I don't enjoy recoil and a 12ga slug gun will do the same thing at 1/5th the price. If I ever buy another one, it'll be a "build" with a RRA .458SC upper at it's core.
