4TH Generation Glock
I just got back from the Ft. Worth gun show,where I got to see and handle one in person. I gotta say that I was not impressed with it. The new texture on the grip feels like 80 grit sandpaper, and the serrations on the slide look fish gills. I love Glocks, but not this one....It is the first one I've seen that I would consider ugly. Has anyone else seen or handled one? "Two flags fly above my land that really sum up how I feel. One is the colors that fly high and proud the red the white the blue.The other ones got a rattlesnake with a simple statement made, Don’t Tread On Me is what it says" |

Yea, I handled one 2 weeks ago at my local gun shop. I didn't really like it either. The new testure actually hurt my hand when gripping it tight. The fish gill serrations did give me more purchase when pulling back the slide, but they are ugly. I agree with you shakelford, I don't like this generation either. I've heard they are only marketing the 22 and maybe the 19 in this new confiuration and if sales do well they will probably make all of them that way, and if sales don't do well, I guess they will abandon it. If they wanted to change something, I wish they would have just changed the sights to having steel sights standard or something simple like that.

Add steel sights and then leave it the hell alone! Their slogan is glock perfection.....Why mess with Perfection?

What kind of material is it? Does it feel like it'll wear down with use? I personally like abrasive grip materials, but skateboard tape on my carry gun will wear out the clothing too fast.

It's not new material, it's the same polymer, they have just molded it differiently to have a very rough edge.
