What the hell is going on a father has killed his five kids and shot himself in Graham, Washington. This has got to stop for the love of Christ. This is twice in one day that somebody has taken lives for no reason. Lord be with the family that is left to deal with this mess.

I have a hard time beleiving that this is all a coincedence like Demo is saying. Call it paraniod but I think there is something else going on here. We are going to have to really fight to keep the Second Amendment with shit like this happening every other day.

I know there is no thing as a coincedence. The guy in NY has no job by he has full body armor that cost $1700 or more with no money. All the details I have heard so far do not add up right. Someone set this up since we are fighting to keep our 2nd Amendment rights.

every day in this country. The news media is obviously looking for shock value. Even after the shooting in Columbine, that year saw fewer school shootings than any of the previous 10 years. The media doesn't cover the inner city killings because nobody cares what happens there and it's common enough that it has no shock value. Look at the people who decide what we see on the news. They can cover Obama's failure to give France's first lady a kiss on the cheek, or Michelle Obama's fashion, but how many families are destroyed by drunk drivers without a single mention on national news? I'm not saying they should do that, but I am attempting to highlight the media's manipulation of our perception. Sad as it sounds, I've seen more important stories and headlines in theis site thatn on TV, but the internet is still not considered a valid journalistic media, so nobody gives what is put in here much thought.

to the new arguments that will crop up in favor of new gun legislation, and there will be many, but I can't seem to come up with any NEW arguments against new legislation. I'm thinking that in light of these recent tragedies, my response is an emotional one, and the Left loves to pass legislation that has emotional appeal. That's where the sheeple begin to lose their freedoms; when our judgements get clouded with emotion. All the reasons AGAINST new legislation are the same arguments we've had for some 232 years; for Freedom, Personal Defense, and the Bill of Rights. What that tells me is that the Constitution was designed to be a "Fail-Safe" against emotional judgements, doing what the left has wanted to do for years; protect us from ourselves!

The internet isn't considered valid journalistic media because it competes with the traditional media and liberals don't like competition. In 2006, there were around 17,600 alcohol related deaths on the highways but we didn't hear too much about that. All the publicity we're hearing is about mass killings, and I read somewhere that this year's tally is somewhere around 49 dead... make that 55? As for the killings that involved one perp and one victim; they're hardly newsworthy. Articles that support an agenda? Well, that's a different matter entirely.

IT's a sad state of affairs to be sure, but to say things are a little tense is a gross understatement. Last month 663,000 lost their jobs... think that doesn't add to the tension? We spent 790 Billion to save the same jobs (so we were told) we are losing. I keep wondering if my job is next. Where I work, our top four customers are 4 of the big 5 banks in trouble so we're sweatin every monday. Think that doesn't add to the tension? Should we be worried about all the guys I work with?

A whole bunch of us are into shooting, hunting, and other outdoorsy stuff, and if we lose our jobs, are any of us gonna snap? I doubt it, but it's a popular trend around here that when the going gets tough, the tough go hunting, fishing, and gardening.

The last number reported on the "radio" news was over 5 million jobs lost. We don't mind bailing out companies that will eventually screw Americans again but I guess that's OK with POTUS and his big plan for Socialism!

please refrain

Please refrain from bringing your weapons to work on Mondays. I feel that the fact of the matter is those who have done the killings would have done them regardless, not that jobs, economy, ect... don't play some part but if you are going to kill someone because you lost your job than you must be emotionally unstable and may kill because your TIVO malfunctioned.

I think the liberal media is being directed to spread any news regarding lives lost with guns, especially any automatic weapons. They are coordinating to build their case.

I have to agree

In the three most recent cases (past two days, God Help Us) two reports from AP writers told us what kinds of guns the perps had in their posession... An AK, a .357, a .45, and a 9mm. The third report, just a "rifle", not an assault weapon, not a semi-auto, auto, whatever, just a "rifle" so it's my guess that it wasn't necessarily a "targeted" (no pun intended) firearm on their prospective lists. I'd bet a year's wages that you'll hear references to these incidents in the next round of debates on any new gun bills.

The first thing you hear out of these people is what type of weapon and then how many were killed/wounded.

Years ago I came home after being on vacation to come around the corner and see the Coroner by my house. I soon found out my neighbor had walked outside and shot himself. I found out later it was because he thought his wife was cheating on him. One of his three sons was my younger brothers best friend. He told my brother that the dad had brought the boys in and was ranting about it and had pointed the revolver at them many times. He then got himself so worked up, he just walked outside and did the deed. The boys are lucky to be alive.
