The Desert Eagle is a large caliber gas-operated semi-automatic pistol manufactured primarily in Israel by IMI (Israel Military Industries, now Israel Weapon Industries) for Magnum Research, Inc. Magnum Research has also marketed various versions of the short recoil Jericho 941 pistol under the Baby Eagle name; these have no functional relationship to the Desert Eagle and bear only a moderate cosmetic resemblance.

the desert eagle is legal to own anywhere you can own a handgun. .50DE has tremendous stopping power in close quarters, but has no range. Big and slow. my opinion... its an expensive big heavy akward clunk of S@#t.

I've never shot a Desert Eagle .50 cal but I have shot a S&W 500 Revolver and that thing is some fun to shoot. Jumps like crazy.

hell yeah. lots bigger. it's almost the difference between a .40S&W and a .44mag. and i think the S&W 500 is a better, more reliable weapon. sneaky snake could pack the snub as a side arm to his barrett on those covert solo sneaky sniping missions.

I have shot the 50 Desert Eagle and it is fun with a lot of muzzle jump. Recoil is not bad at all. Nice and loud when it goes off. I only get to fire it once. Wish I could have shot it more. Ammo is not cheaper for it. You are not going to double tap with this gun with the recoil.LOL One of the guy I use to shoot with has one and brought it to a match and a few of us shot it.
