Well, I'm hoping I made a good trade. I traded my S&W sw9ve (black/silver) for a S&W Model 10 .38 special. Ill have a picture posted of it soon on here.
I agree with ebear & Lucky. Model 10's are fine revolvers. Smith has made them for decades - all the kinks (& there were never many at all) have long been worked out. It's practically a failsafe gun. There are some very good defense loads. I like either the 158 gr lead SWC HP +P Chicago Police load, or the hottest 125 gr JHP you can find. You can find reloads really cheap, so you can practice a lot. Try to get a reload with the same bullet weight & velocity as your defense load, so you'll be accustomed to the recoil.
The model 10 is a fantastic piece, actually the manufacture of them goes back a hundred years at this point in time. I collect the victory model which as you all know was the 10 in military guise, spent its first years shiped to england to before our entry in WWII and was used all the way up to the introduction of the 9mm. Obviously not in the numbers of the 1911, but sure is cheaper to collect. In my 50 years of shooting, its the only piece i've never not had go bang when ya pulled the triger. Must be late im rambling.. Sorry, just love the suckers and happy for ya Warner!
a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture.

S&W MAKES BETTER REVOLVERS THAN SEMI- AUTOS, ME PERSONALLY WOULD HAVE WENT 357, SO I COULD SHOOT .38 ALSO.

only reason i ended up with a .38 and not another 357 is because that's all my friend's dad had at the time.
