I found 10rnds of 9x25mm mauser rounds but they are different from any 9 iron ive ever seen. I heard they are rare. Is this true? And what gun were they made for? "War is God's way of teaching Americans geography."

is nothing more than necked down 10mm brass that is loaded with a 9mm bullet.i am not aware of commercially manufactured ammo or guns but i know of a custom barrel for a 1911 frame and RCBS makes dies for reloading.

are you sure they are mauser rounds?this loading is known as the 9x25 Dillon

I believe the first C96 mausers were 9x25 mauser. A newer 9x25mm round is a necked down 10mm case with a 9mm bullet. Most guns that shoot this round are custom 1911's but you can also get a 9x25mm conversion barrel for a Glock 20. It is similar to a .357 sig, but with more behind it.

yup went to wikipedia just now and typed it in. 9x25mm mauser is designed for the red 9 aka mauser c96. which when i typed mauser c96 it went to it and i looked at the catrige calibers which said 9x25mm Mauser Export which is rare.

the type 17 was a chinese copy of the C96... so yes, they look similar
