I've been trying to figure out where they stand. I don't know if they are purposely vague or are really neutral on politics. I'd like to hear from some of our seasoned members and help me decide if I even want to join AARP. Seems like the "benefits" of joining are closely mirrored by NRA and I'm gonna stay with them anyway. What say ye geezers?

allow companies to use their name/logo but many other organizations do the same thing with the very same services and prices.
Some of the AARP insurance advertisments on TV have a small disclaimer that to get the AARP whatever insurance you do not need to be an AARP member.

I vaguely recall AARP being obama cheerleaders and they advocated for the Affordable Healthcare Act, "obamacare"

They smell kinda liberal

I think they are (now) politically neutral (on the face) because all the members they lost pushing Obama's agenda. I'm not sending them any money. When I get there.

AARP is your enemy

Groucho Marx famously quipped that he wouldn’t want to belong to any group that would want him as a member. Perhaps from the great beyond Groucho can take heart in the fact he’d feel perfectly comfortable as a member of today’s AARP, whose embrace of “Obamacare” once again demonstrates their complete indifference toward their 35 million dues-paying members, if not outright hostility toward seniors everywhere.

Those of us who have followed the AARP closely over the years (as I’ve been doing since 1962, leading me to dub them the “Association Against Retired Persons”) are hardly shocked to find them siding against seniors in order to curry favor with the liberal politicians who subsidize them to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.
Here are the facts: In the coming decade, the ranks of those eligible for Medicare will swell by 30%, yet the AARP cheerleads healthcare ‘reform’ that would cut over $500 billion from the program and doesn’t add a single doctor or nurse to attend to patients.

proud of the group..

Good question pard, and yep assembled group has it on the money.. we joined when eligible (not knowing their left agenda) .. The first magazine was an eye opener.. sorta Oprah in print form..

Fox news did an "in depth" on Obama care last week, sited studies showing 80% of Doc's believe it will lead to disaster.. More expensive, and lower quality health care..

AARP was 100% behind it.. This issue is going to be major.. the supreme court will hear the case this coming fall.. giving it unprecedented time..

The outcome of that decision (related to states filing suit, based in short on being unconstitutional to require anyone to purchase anything as part of citizenship will be a major factor in the 2012 elections..

O will either run on a major accomplishment upheld by the S. court, or total failure.. why the issue of supreme court appointments is so important..

a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture.

AARP

AARP sold out seniors for the money they make off of S.S. suplemental plans. The only reason to push Obama care. They are left wing, and anti gunrights.
