I am fairly new to the gun world. I am in process of getting a security gun license in Florida. They have restrictions on what we can carry I am looking at a Smith & Wesson Model 9VE Allied Forces Pistol, Double A, was told its a decent reliable gun to start with. While yes I plan to hit a store/range and try one out and am thinking about a gun course as well,I am interested in what yall have to say as far as tips, suggestions, advice to a new gun user/owner. I have only fired guns in simulators, FATS, and a old rifle when I was in scouts as a kid. Any adivce and thoughts are greatly appreciated. "Kill'em All, Let God Sort'em Out" |

Is there a set list to choose from?

Taking a class would be very helpful. Learning to shoot a Handgun is much different then a rifle. Take a class....Shoot several different guns, before you make choose.

There is no real restriction on type besides the following:
"...the only firearms that may be carried are a .38 caliber revolver; or a .380 caliber or 9-millimeter semiautomatic pistol; or a .357 caliber revolver with .38 caliber ammunition only."

A Glock 19 and take a training course! Then go shoot...shoot some more,and when you get done...Shoot Some More!
