I've been going through the junk the previous owners of my house left in the basement and came acrossa can of lubricating oil for aircraft turbine engines. Since I don't have a turbine laying around I was wondering if anyone on here knows of other uses for this oil. The previous owner did have a gunsmithing shop down there which makes me wonder if he was using it for that.

I dunno if any of these numbers are a weight but here's what it says on the can.

0-133
Lubricating oil
Aircraft turbine engine
mil-L-6081c amendment 2
grade 1010
9150-00-273-2388
octagon process inc.

There's also a warning about prolonged contact with skin, inhaling the vapors, dont get it in your eyes etc
.Nothin sayin you cant use it to pleasure goats though so I guess ebear can use it if he wants.

sounds like

straight 10 weight to me.10 10 being the milspec for 10 weight.basically the same weight as transmission fluid, power steering fluid or hydraulic fluid.works good for disassembly oil-as in breaks free rusty parts.

It's assembly lube,

I used the shit by the gallon! It is used to put together assemblies and lube them prior to installation when the primary lubrication system takes over (after priming), usually hydraulic in nature. It's good shit Ooze, don't get rid of it, use it..lol (not on llamas)........

GP, It is like

a light recoil oil, it should have the consistency of dextron +or-, like you mentioned earlier, 10 wt sounds about right. Mike I had to attend an appointment with my wife today so I wasn't able to send the email that I promised...Sorry!
