i haven't had any chance to use an Egyptian yet. i do like the Romanian and Chinese. you just want to stay away from the WASR single stack. i have one and it jams a lot, and mostly hard to find good mags for. with the high cap mags they will fit most all variants. the Norinco i have wont jam if you try to make it.

The chinese built some of the best you can buy. Having said that...........yeah the price you pay is out of this world. Best AK for the buck is the Yugo's there cheaper but better than any Romanian, have a thicker receiver and barrel. Better built gun in my opinion. Romanian are not that bad, just a lighter barrel and 1mm receiver and canted sights on some.

Just my 2 cents

I have a Norinco mak 90 and it cant be beat. We (my brother and I) bought 10 of them in 1986 for 175.00 each . We sold all but 2 but they are very reliable and accurate. Bulgarian has always been top notch. I also have Arsenal SLR 95 with milled receiver which I feel is just as good as the Chinese but I wouldnt say better. At least from what I have seen.

I'm not a fan of the AK74's. I like .223 in an AR, but not AK

with all the surplus 223(5.56) and the 7.62x39 gone there is a shit load of 5.45x39 AK 74 ammo still available.it does the same job as the 223 as far as balistics go but is still readily available on the surplus market whereas 5.56 and 7.63x39 are getting hard to find

these are decent AK variants as imported AK variants go.they arent all that common and that is where the questionable reliability comes into being

bigguns you bought 10 mak 90s in 1986?? Mak 90 means modified Automatic Kalashnikov 1990. There is no way you bought them in 1986. Maybe 1996.
