Unscrew it????????

The gas piston should slide right out once the action spring is removed, I think it is integral with the bolt .

There is a pin holding it in place you will have to remove the pin first. Are you adding a 922r part?

yup

there should be a pin that keeps the piston in the bolt carrier

People what he is asking is how to remove the piston from the bolt carrier; it screws into the carrier and is held there by a solid pin not a roll pin. Have a friend in Alabama who has a bunch of AK's I get to shoot and learn about.

I also have a WASR 10/63. After you have the receiver cover off when you remove the bolt the piston will come with it. It is all one piece.
