If you believe that this "Signing Statement" by President Bush-Rove, is the only potentially impeachable offense, you are missing a plethora of other very serious acts by him, at least since September 11, 2001. If anyone is interested, I recommend a book by retired federal prosecutor, Elizabeth de la Vega, entitled:"United States v George W. Bush et al". Th author presents strong evidence that Bush, Cheney, et al, violated two sections of U S Title 18, covering fraud, false statements and conspiracy to defraud the the United States of America:[that's you and me, folks]..... This evidence involves matters of war and the security of the nation and it makes the case for Clinton's impeachment [for allegedly purguring himself and obstructing justice over tesimony about sexual proclivities]look like childs play.

gee, lemme see,you send our troops into war in an urban area.train them here before you send them, for urban combat.sounds to me like training to prevent the citizens of our country from rising up against the government.this is the basis of the second amendment by the way!then the current president alters the laws so that himself and later presidents and government officials can deploy our military against us.if this just plain doesnt concern you there is something not quite right in your thinker!just think soldiers like sytasyn syn(who in civilian life is probably a great guy!)may be ordered to remove you and your family from your house SS style.Hence the second amendment really starts to mean more to me than any law ,executive order,or even an election!most people write this stuff off as crazy, seperatist, radical behavior, not so people!the building blocks are being put into place to allow this kind of thing in your town or city and neighborhoods.well as for me and mine we will be long gone before this happens!for the gist of this watch the movies"Siege At Ruby Ridge" and "Rede Dawn" may be some truth to this fiction!

Yes

I recognize the concern. I believe the concept of Signing Papers that "permit" Martial Law by Federal troops, and even Executive Orders of some types, will be challenged in the Federal courts, and ultimately go to the SCOTUS. The erosion of Posse Comitatus via a Presidential signing paper should be held a high crime/misdemeanor, and probably an impeachable offense.

Thats a toughy

In a situation like this Martial Law thing, I am not sure what I would do. I would NEVER shot another Marine/Military member even if he was trying to "evict" me and my family, Nor would I allow that to happen. Unfortunately, I think I would be force to hide my family somewhere and deal with it myself and live with the demons of whatever I would do(got some already, why nor invite a party over right?). Also if I were still in the military at the time I can honestly say I would NEVER take actions against my country men I have sworn(and I believe in what I swore to)to protect. I would probably go home no matter what and take care of my family in the manner I stated before. Lets just hope it never happens.

THANK YOU!

you finally said what i had hoped you would say about this subject!it is a fear that some of us americans(especially in fly over country)have when our government is training the military in urban combat.

Let's Hope

That never happens but I'm prepared for anything.

Another note: Around where I live they are building a whole bunch of new schools. The funny thing is that they sure do look a lot like prisons/concentration camps. They are either getting ready for something like that one day and/or preparing are children for environments like that.
