any insight on 9mm fmj wolf ammo, just for target shooting The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!

if not, why shoot cheap dirty ammo?
catfish88
I don't. But I do like cheap dirty women.
righttobarearms
Just remeber to wrap it before you whack it
uglymech6153
that answers my question. It is all I have been able to find
undeniable
There was a guy at our local flea market selling Wolf .223 55gr. FMJ ammo for $250.00 dollars per 500 rounds and people were buying it. We haven't seen the economy inflate as whole since Obama weasled into office but it sure has happened in the Guns/Ammo sector.
Eturnit3
If you do a google search on "wolf ammo dirty" it comes back with something like 24,000 results of various opinions, I just gave you mine was all :P
And Im with ya as far as finding ammo goes... its a bitch right now. The weird thing is everybody saw it coming. Ive been taking like 4 cold bore shots a week and reloading. Trying to conserve yet still keep practiced enough to be effective if I should ever need to be.

On the subject of ammo, my Wal-Mart told me today that you can only buy one box of ammo at a time. Actually you can buy 5 boxes max a day, but they have to be of a different bar code, so no two brands of the same ammo caliber a day. Has anybody else ran into this?
Tomasco
I wish our walmarts would do that. I might get some. Both of ours policy is first come first serve. If the first guy in line at 6 AM when they wheel in the ammo from the truck wants every freaking box of every caliber they have, he gets it. No shit. I was there at 6:30 last time I was lucky enough to get into town when a truck delivered.....they never know supposedly when it's due.....the guy in front of me bought all 20 box's of Winchester .45. Two guys bought all 50 box's of Federal bulk .22. I got the last 3 box's of Blazer 9mm, lucky me. They sure as hell have lots of 20 guage birdshot tho! I haven't found a box of .45 for 2 weeks except for real expensive stuff and only a couple of them. I can't spend $40 for 50 rounds.....jeez. Well, I did but I'm saving them for home defense.

I don't know how large a city you live in, but here in my town you kind of build a repore with the counter-people..with that in mind sometimes a greased palm can help you with any purchace problems
catfish88
It's not a large town, so I'll give it a try. Thanks.

I live in Dallas in North Central Texas and I've never run into the problem of box limits that you can buy in one day except at Wall Marts, which is where I only buy .22 lr rounds. I wonder if this is a Wall Marts company policy or something? Most of the rounds I buy you generally can't get at Wally World. I usually don't have any trouble finding the rounds I want at the local gun shops around where I live. I keep hearing from people all over the country about their difficulties in finding the types or rounds they want and I've not had any trouble at all. There are just a couple of types that fortunately I'm well stocked in at home that I sometimes, not always, just sometimes have a little bit of trouble finding. My favorite shop where I go and often take my boys with me, I know the owner really well and if he doesn't have something I want he can almost always get it in for me in 2 or 3 days.

I was told today by my local WalMart hunting counter person that it was a new Wal Mart policy to limit the number they sell. She made it sound like it was a national company policy, but I don't know if it really is, or it's just a local one. She even wrote down my liscense number on a sheet of paper, I asked her why, and she said that it is to make sure you only buy one box of the same bar coded ammo a day and that not to worry, they destroy that peice of paper at the end of the day. I have a few rounds stored up, but considering I shoot IDPA every month and practice once per week, I go through them quick, so I would have to go to Wal Mart every day probably to maintain my current rate of fire.
samD
told me that their delivery comes in everyday between 3 - 4 pm. Ask your clerk for their delivery time.
Ironkoji
Catfish,
If I were you I wouldn't trust them to destroy those sheets of paper. And I wouldn't buy from a store that did that either. Don't take this as a pun, but it sure sounds fishy to me. As for company policy, that's what I thought that was all about, but like I said above, I only buy .22lr caliber rounds at Wally World because they're cheap there.

My Wal-Mart sells out within an hour. No limits so far, just no ammo.
They only get like 20 boxes at a time.
Ironkoji
Have you ever been able to find the IMI 9mm x 21mm magnum parabellum at a Wall Marts? I never have. I usually can get them at my favorite gun shop though.
Koji
Ironkoji
9mm are really hard to come buy??? I think you meant by, otherwise using buy in this context is a really bad pun. Eeeeek!

lol
samD
But will look next time.
Ironkoji
It gets worse samD. IMI makes the 9mm x 21mm mag para, but IWI and Raphael together went one better, literally 1mm better with their version of the mag para in a 9mm x 22mm. I like them both because at close range they give outstanding penetration performance with hard steel jacket projectiles.

What do you shoot them in?

I have a Beretta carbine that is chambered for the 9x21 and an Uzi Special that is chambered for the 9x22. These are military weapons special models, but the Beretta makes a civilian version of the same carbine, and believe it or not, it's not really all that expensive. There are other makes out there besides those three, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. Ryo chan will probably know.

I think its getting to a point where you have to go to a gun show to get your ammo
charley9toe
If you're shooting as much as I think you are it's time to start reloading. Or, talk to some of the small ammo makers and cut a deal. I'll bet there is someone living close to you who would be willing to reload in bulk for a price.
catfish88
Charley9toe, Yea, thanks, that's good advice. There is a guy a shoot with that reloads some. I've been saving my brass because I thought about reloading, trouble is, I can't find dies in 9mm or 45 right now, even those are sold out. So, I might see if I can give him my brass and he might cut me a deal. I'll check into it.
ebear
Great advice,,,Thats what im gonna do too...Ive allready started buying reloading equipment, but here in Illinois the gun-powder is getting harder to get. And I believe The Brass is gonna be a bitch. But Im also going to go to a Gun Show next Sunday and look to make Bulk deals with a Re-loader I met last Time out.
charley9toe
I think the next step in the administrations outlook will be more red tape and additional shipping cost of powder. Increased shipping cost could drive the small guy out of business. DHS tried this last year by rewriting a regulation that would transmit an increase in the cost of receiving and storing gunpowder in quantity. There was a lot of push back on that proposal and I don't know what the status is.
runawaygun762
Commercial reloaders are paying for tables at gun shows, and most of the time if you are a vendor at a gun show, you can go around to the other tables before the show opens and these commercial reloaders are buying up the components before us regular joes can get in the door.
ronin1604
Her in cen-tex, reloading supplies are very easy to find still, with one exception. Small rifle primers, haven't seen them in about six months.
