New to all this, trying to find out what ammo size a Savage 128o 1899f Take down 22HP takes. Other than it's a 22, the size of the round has me baffeled. Almost looks like a 270 or 250 but the lead is to big for the bore. Any ideas?

Yo Mark3030, ain't much of a thrill, had the riffle the last 6 years and still trying to get and find Ammo for it. Of course being Canadian, I sort of expected to run into some problems. But this is ridiculous.

Hello, and welcome to the site. Hope you get an answer to your question. I have no idea about this firearm you are talking about.

ok, this is a very interesting problem. have never see victor chan, that's fordvg, and mark3030 chan stump like this before. from what you say, this could be .22 magnum. is it possible you could post picture of this weapon on the site. if so my pops might be able to help you and possibly several others here too. charley9toe is very expert about .22 caliber weapons and he might know the answer to this as well. also greasypaws would be another good suggestion, and ryo's pops is Ironkoji on the site too.
am very glad to have you as new member. hope you will enjoy all your visits to the site.

Savage Model 1899 in .25-35 caliber. You could call Savage and ask if they have an Historian. They should be able to identify it, from the markings.
It could also be the 1899H, in "22 Hi-Power"

Welcome aboard.
That is a very nice rifle you have there. As far as caliber goes (?). I have'nt done any research but my money would go on 5.6x52R that's .22 Savage hi Power. If I'm right, you owe me a snow-cone.
