And what ammo are you in need of?

Check the little, out of the way places.
daisycutter
you may find an out of the way hardware store or general store that carries ammo.
Nitris
for ammo. Order online it's usually cheaper.

said...I ordered all kinds of shit online, but the worst part of that was, in my city (not the best area either) they left boxes of 1,000 rounds on the front porch!!! Morons! Nothing got stolen though, but that was just luck.

a year ago there was nothing in stock, but now 1,000 round boxes are stacked from the floor. Price has come down, too.

I have been always looking for my ammo in the wrong places. Many individuals like myself were heading to Wal-Mart and their local gun store. I realized that their supply was minimal and prices were higher than online discount retailers. My favorite web based place is luckygunner.com they can supply ALL OF YOUR AMMO NEEDS. I have been dealing with them for a while now and I can attest to their wide array of ammo and great prices all week. I usually wait weeks to almost a month for other places like centerfiresystems. With luckygunner.com I have always received my order days after placing it. My most recent purchase was OO buck 12 gauge 2 3/4. I purchased 500 rounds for under .50 cents a round!!!!

Do a price comparison for your self and then take into account shipping...
so are many other web stores
Tula Ammo 5.45x39 priced on the high end at $6.00 a box of 20 when you can purchase Wolf for 4.69 a box of 20 and surplus 1080 rounds for $129.00.
But if no one else has it, they could alway check here I guess...

I just picked up 460 rounds of 5.56 green tip and 175 rounds of 12 gauge 00 buck (federal 2 3/4 1325FPS) for about 220 out the door. I think that was a pretty good deal. Any opinions? Been forever since I bought 5.56.

I'm not sure how much you paid for the 5.56 or the 00... but you can usually find lake city M855's for around $150 for 420 rds. Last week I just bought 480 rds. of American Tactical SS109 for something like $140 or $160 with no delivery charge (can't remember exact price as it was part of a larger shipment). The SS109 isn't painted green, but is NATO spec steel rounds with "guaranteed less than 1 MOA"... we'll see. You probably already know the difference, but if not, M855 uses the SS109 bullet, but is held to higher standards that the stuff that is just labeled SS109. There seems to be quite a bit of Lithuanian NATO SS109 around right now for around $200-220 for 500 rds or around $400-420 for 1000 rds. Most of the penetrator ammo is pretty similar.
Federal Power shok 00, Vital shok 00, and LE 00 are all around $18-$25 for 25 rds depending on which kind you want... Given the going rate, I say you got a good deal.
BTW I order almost all of my ammo online. I've found that in common handgun calibers like 9x19, or .40 that wally world may be a dollar or two cheaper if you're just buying it by the box... but you if do any serious shooting (especially rifle rounds) its cheaper to buy in bulk online.
thanks to nitris's dog-

They do some good sales there...
I think Atlantic has some SS109 on sale right now also.
ronin1604
This is M855 FLC 5.56, 460rnds for 112.00 and the 12 ga is basically the federal power shock. 175 rnds for 106 dollars. These prices were iut the door, and in military ammo can. Cheap, but always useful.
Reaper308
where did you get it? locally or online?
ronin1604
Got it locally, but they only offer to military. That's why I was trying to see if was that good of a deal.or if I got suckered....
