I picked up a new Ruger Mk III Hunter yesterday. Very cool with an exceptional grip. It has a 'thumb rest'! Anyway, Piled behind me were probably a hundred 1,000 round boxes of .223 - pretty expensive, but the boxes were there. They also had an ample supply of 9mm and even 50 or so boxes of .45. But here was no .38 at all and many of the other calibers were missing. No primers either. Just wondering if you guys are still experiencing a shortage, or if it is over. you're right, prices are still high. I was at a local shop yesterday and they wanted $45 for a 20rd. box of corbon dpx .40S&W. Its should cost $30-35.
I ended up placing an order with ammo to go last night, and got 100 5.56 AP green tips for around $65, 20 rds of 5.56 hornady tap for $20, 25 rem 000 3" 12 ga. shells for $25, and a 50 rd. box of LE hydra shoks in .40 for $26 and I found the dpx for $35. All in all their prices wern't too bad but they could have been better. I was looking for Federal HST in .40 but it seems to be back ordered everywhere. Thats some good stuff.

the prices are very close on most of the ammo it is within a doller or two of each other well at least for the 45acp

Main thing to check is shipping and handeling charges, can vary widely.

My local guy bought $40,000 worth of ammo last year so we didn't have a shortage. Just bought a box of .40s&w hollow points for $26.00 and a brick of .22 lr for $22. He thought ahead and gambled last year when he thought ammo was going to get scarce.

It's getting better, but we're still not back at consistent levels yet. Prices will remain high because the cost of raw materials are up. Once every goddamn shooter in America finally has their garage full of ammo, the prices will go down slightly due to lower demand, but not much. With ammo being such a highly-consumed product, prices will stay higher than they were. Gone are the days of the $11.34 100-rd value pack of winchester 9mm ammo at wally world. Damn it.

the 9mm creeping back on the shelves here , but like everyone else..the prices are still high...but Run..11.34 for 100 rounds of 9mm was a very good price.before the shortage i was paying about17.00 for 1oo rounds of white box winchester 9mm.
runawaygun762
11.34 for 100 rds, 5.47 for 50 rounds. Hell, 9mm used to be cheap enough that reloading really wasn't very cost effective. WAAAAAHHHHH, I WANT CHEAP BULLETS AGAIN!!!!!

My suppliers seem to have more in stock lately. I buy mainly from Ammoman, C.T.D., and Sportsman's Guide. Prices are still high but will come down some. Nothing like about 3 years ago though.
