Another Gun Poll...

What is the favorite gun you OWN! Can be a rifle, pistol, or shotgun, or favorite of each. Since I'm not getting any info on my .50 question (and am bored), I want to see what people like out there.

My fvorite gun is anyone that I have close at hand, when I need it. I think I enjoy my Ruger 10/22 for cheap pleasurable plinking.

I think my favorite rifle would be my PS90 or my FH1A1SPR in the 308. As for my fav pistol... hands down, my CAI 1911 commander, or my rock island 1911 officers model.

For close quarters work, how can you go wrong. Especially for shooting out of or in a vehicle.

But being a poor senior citizen on a fixed income, precludes my dreams from being realized. With the hits my 401K and Iras have taken, I will have to die much younger than I planned. Wife & I sharing a can of dog food with our cats and puppy for Sunday Dinner.

So there I was....

Driving down a back road to get to work. Thought the speed limit was 70, but it was only 60. I see the flashing lights in my rear view and pulled over.....for doing 87 in a 60. Where I come from 15 over the limit is BAD! LOL! Well the officer walked up, and right away(while keeping hands on the wheel) I informed him I was a CHL holder and armed. So, very politly he had me place my guns on the dash. My .45, my .38 stubby, and my judge. He's looking at the judge and asked what the hell it was. As soon as I said the word judge, he erupted into questions. He had read all about it, but had no first hand knowledge of them. So the next thing I know, he and I are standing next to the road shooting the crap out of a gatorade bottle. I(like an idiot) asked if this was legal. He fixed me with a stupid look and said " Son, I'm the sheriff.". I got off with a verbal warning.

My favorite weapons are the ones I don't have to use in the field anymore and so they are fun to take to the range and just enjoy shooting them. Truly favorite one I personally own hmmm, there are two. The Mark 12 Model X SPR for saving my life and the lives of others before I retired from the business. I still own it and shoot it every time I go to the range. I can't forget how often the Beretta Cx4 carbine, chambered for the 9mm x 21mm IMI Israeli magnum parabellum round, was the order of business for the day. It's so smooth and easy it's just a real pleasure to shoot at targets that don't shoot back at you. Yeah, the SPR and the carbine are my favorites.

Cool story Ronin

Now that there was funny! I'll agree with samD about the 10-22 tho. It's still a lot of fun to shoot soda cans around in a sandy draw and rabbits beware. You can still shoot an awful lot of .22 for $15. My 16 year old daughter really likes it too.

I've been looking. Man, you can spend a small fortune on them! I got one of the WM stainless all weather models and it is so sweet. I bought one in 1965 in high school and shot it for years. Gave it to a nephew when I joined the Navy. I got a few Eagle 30 round mags which cut down on the reloading. I was thinking maybe a little trigger work but other than that I probably won't do much. I have a feeling that down the line I'll be much happier with the extra ammo those bucks can buy now. That's if Walmart ever gets any more in and the first guy doesn't buy every damned box!
