1911 grips

Noob, my 1911 is a Firestorm gov't model, it came with some really soft, textured rubber grips. I have no idea where they came from but I love 'em! Absolutely no chance of slippage, and they're comfortable to grip.
Nice guns, by the way.

Get some

with a gritty/rough texture......That has always worked best for me. The Punisher or Boondock Saints grips are always a cool addition! Heres some links http://www.e1911grips.com/ i fixed the link for ya shak...no charge :) lbc

hogue

My Colt came stock with some rubber grips with the colt emblem on them. Idk if hogue made them for colt or what but I bet the hogue rubber double diamonds would work just fine for you. Otherwise you might try VZ grips or perhaps some grips from this guy at the Bunker. Pete from the armory channels video of the bunker shows a lot of cool grips man Id check it out. He has the link to their website on his channel page on youtube. the ARMORY CHANNEL

VZ Grips

I have Operators II on my 1911 (They are G10) and love them. I've tried a few others and they always seem to slip a bit, but I've had good luck with VZ

I have to agree. I love the Operators II on mine. Very good control. No slipping with sweaty hands like others I've had.

I have enough bills. Don't need one of those evil things. I figure if I can't pay cash or have the money in the bank I don't need it.

Thanks

I guess ill have to try some and see if i like them. Will probably go with the VZ on the desert eagle. I think the shop i go to has some of the houges and they will let me try em on my springfield. Not sure if i want to put sticky rubber grips on it since that will most likely be my carry gun. Once i get it broke in and am sure of its reliability. Thanks again guys.

They feel nice, but I find that they wear quickly and become slippery

they were just stolen out of my truck last Wednesday......I was highly pissed, one was an Operator model(all ready replaced it because they sell like hotcakes here,my gun dealer only had 2 in stock, then it's a 3 or 4,month wait..Bud's Guns,he's the cheapest around) and the other was a standard A1 model with $500.00 of G.S. work....Anyway the point was they had Pearce grips and I found them very good for the price.Second point,I'll never leave a weapon in my truck, will pack them in the bar in a briefcase.I think I will replace the other with a new Range Officer........Please everyone pray for with that some innocent civilian is killed with my stolen weapons and for their safe return to me(doubt they will).

good luck

I had a 20Ga stolen out of my back truck window, back when that was legal. not quite the same as two 1911's but equally ridiculous and a shitty feeling. walk away from my truck for 5 min to go in a gas station come back to see my back window broken out and a shotgun gone....not a good day ,over 10 years later still kinda pisses me off to think about

Game warden training

Hey John, sounds like ya'll need some game warden training in Ohio? They don't go in the woods where I am from. And I don't advocate violence against any law abiding citizen; just sayin.

I wouldn't change the grips on the Springfield armory 1911 myself. I love the look of them. The "U.S." stamp on them just looks....right.

Hogue

I have 2 sets I really like. First are hogue's and the second, I'm not sure of the make. They are of the "grip tape" like material. The grit goes all the way through the material, not just a surface coating... All I remember is the guy is a retire Army Warrent...
