Anybody on here who prays, help out
My nephew is in a bad way. He's not quite a week old and is hanging on by a thread. My wife says it's Rubella, but I'm not sure if she's right. Either way, the little guy is undergoing a series of complete blood transfusions and his prognosis is pretty bad. Right now, doctors are doing everything they can, but it's going to take a miracle for the boy to pull through, and if he does, there's a chance of brain damage. I'd have no sympathy if it was the result of him living a dangerous lifestyle or doing something to bring it on himself, but he's just an infant. Anybody on here who prays, do me a favor and throw one in there for Marlow's nephew. Thanks, guys. "I have always been a soldier. I have known no other life. The calling of arms, I have followed from boyhood. I have never sought another." From The Virtues of War, by Steven Pressfield.

The little guy's counts are down, although I don't know what counts they're looking at, but a lower number is a good thing. He's had two complete blood transfusions. It does make me wonder why God allows things like that to happen to infants, but He probably doesn't interfere too much with natural development and if life were easy for everybody, then the thrill of living wouldn't be there.
We didn't actually gather online to pray, but I'm guessing there were plenty of people who prayed with their significant others and I think the bible has a verse where God tells us "Where two or more are gathered in my name, so too am I there". That's probably not a direct quote, but I think I got it pretty close (Woo, look at the wannabe cannibal go with the biblical knowledge). Thanks for all your prayers and I appreciate you fellas keeping them coming for the little fighter.

The little guy had the last IV taken out and the last warming lamp turned off today. He should be going home by Saturday or Sunday. He would have fared much worse if he'd been a preemie, but he was a tad over nine pounds when he was born, so that helped fight the infection. I'm still a bit dubious of the power of prayer, as I believe God is going to do things according to his plan regardless of what we ask for, but it certainly didn't hurt, and maybe he was moved by complete strangers, old geezers, and closet psychopaths (not LBC saying LBC any LBC names LBC.) coming together to ask his help for a baby.
By the way, I'm pretty sure my wife started crying a bit on the phone when I told her I asked for your help.
Thanks, fellas.
