Didn't want you to think you were getting ignored. I'm not much for knowledge on the "ole smoke poles". I'm sure ebear is going to have a field day with that one.

i like pyrodex pellets rather than loose powder.the load depends on bullet type and caliber

are you gonna hunt with this gun or just target shoot?the last muzzle stuffer i had i was shooting 375 grain speer bullets thru it with 120 grains(3-60 grain pellets)of pyrodex.works dandy for deer.do you have any of the factory literature for your gun?it should have some recommended loads or even maximum loads for it to give you a base line

try this link:http://www.savagearms.com/images/pdf/manuals/MLII_loads.pdf
it is a pdf file for model 10.if the link wont work then go www.savagearms.com and go into the muzzle loader section and it will have a section with load data.use this info as a starting point.let the company do the load developement for you as a base starting point.

I will be deer hunting with this. Yes i have the books with it it has some loads listed i was just looking for a starter load to play with. I dont want to use black powder. when using smokeless powder u only have to clean it every 100 shots rather than every shot

the pyrodex aint near as dirt as loose black powder and is real easy to load in pellet form, especially for followup shots.

I found some pyrodex magnum pellets. Worked great
