I'm considering purchasing the Sig Sauer Mini Red Dot Sight to go on an AR-15. Has anyone used this sight? Any opinions on it? Or any suggestions for a better sight?

The Mini Red Dot is 199.99 USD. Heres the URL:

Thanks in advance everyone.

sig-dot

While I have no experience with it, I offer the following.
It's a sig.
It's targeting enhancement.
It's reasonably priced.
Thanks for the link!

Works fine...

They are a great little sight. Little being the operative, but quick enough. I'd probably wait and save a bit more for an EOTech though.

Consider the fact that they throw it in when buying a Classic....

It's a loss leader for them so, they also do not make it, can't remember who does but it costs more because of the Sig name on it....

I'd also look at the Vortex sights, they are solid and function as advertised. Up and comer in tactical sights...

No sir, he fell into that bullet... Never argue with a stupid person. They'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!!

Strikefire

I was thinking more of the Strikefire, little lower price.

http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-strikefire-hunting-red-dot-sc...

good options...

If your interested in the Sig dot, I posted a link to a site with it at a lower price which makes it more desirable.

I've an EOTech 512 so the Sig that came with the 556 went to a friend who needed one. I used it for a week before handing it over. It worked ok as I said, he loves it,

I think...

I think I prefer the Strikefire. The look of it is more desirable to me. Plus the reviews you shared are quite promising.

I have a horrible history with scopes/sights having manufacturer defects and not being able to hold a zero. I have a Model 700 bolt action and the tactical scope that was originally on it reset after every shot.

Quick Question

What does it mean by "Extra High, Absolute Co-Witness"? Under the 'Select a Model' window.

Extra High Co-Witness: co-witness is setting up the iron sights on the weapon to be in direct line with the red dot allowing the same cheek weld, grip and hold on the weapon which means you will be just that much faster because muscle memory comes into play. Your not having to adjust yourself to use different sights.

If your not sure which you need for your particular weapon, take the time to call them and ask. They will be more than willing to help you ensure you order the correct one.

no problem

glad to help if I can..

It's kinda what I like most about the peeps on this site is their willingness to help others. Used to be most everyone around you was that way, but more and more you see it less and less.
