AR-15 flatop sights need help
I have a AR-15 with a flattop scop mount. For the winter I want to get iron sites but the barrell has no mounting points. In addition, the barrell is a thick bull barrell. Any suggestions, web sites? I like the flip up front sights...that way they won't get in the way if you put your scope back on

If your rifle doesn't have a gas block that allows mounting of a front sight, you can get one from about any decent sized gun parts company. I personally go through Midway USA for everything I need. You can get a gas block with a rail that will allow you to mount a front sight of your choice. I prefer fixed front sight assembly, but I use red dot optics and not scopes with magnification.

I took a 3X scope on it and its great for what I wanted. I will look around for parts eventually. DPMS is not supporting the 22LR AR-15 anymore. I will hit some gun shows for old parts. I just can not justify spending the kind of cash for a plinker.
I had lots of overtime last year for firearms...its dried up. Just glad I still have a job....
