poor guy... he just wanted to collect hundreds of guns. But seriously, its messed up that they took this guys guns without him doing anything wrong(besides buyin too many). thats a lot of wasted loot. plus it makes me wonder now that I know the ATF tracks people who purchase a lot of firearms, and classify them as "suspicious".

lack of information

"if these weapons happened to end up in the wrong hands, it could have been disasterous"

Well, no shit. A rock in the wrong hands could be disasterous. I am so tired of these blanket statements. The gentleman was barred from purchasing weapons since 1975? Why, and could he keep the weapons from before? There was so much information left out of this story. Reaper, thanks for sharing this. The smug look on those spokespeople was repulsive. It seems they were happy to be on film to make it look like they were doing something. Meanwhile, how many rapists, mobsters, thiefs, etc were out committing crimes? Go arrest Tony Soprano, then pop off.

I keep wondering why the guy was barred from purchasing firearms...
I hope everyone on these boards watches this. It might behoove y'all to keep to yourselves how many firearms and the amount of ammo you have.

I found it funny that they called the guns "weapons for war". In actuality, no militant body would use any of those weapon shown in actual warfare, except maybe one of the handguns as a sidearm. they just want to make this guy look like a criminal.
They kept saying that he wasn't allowed to have "any MORE guns". I think that implies that he reached some kind of "limit" by their standards... and couldn't purchase "more" than that. Maybe I misinterpreted it though. In any case, stuff like this pisses me off, and the media loves showing stuff like this on the news. I hope everybody in Jersey can sleep better tonight knowing that the ATF STOLE a bunch of guns from this "survivalist"

exactly

Partisans could use these weapons for defense. But no one in their right mind would assault with the weapons shown. I just looked at the second amendment, and sure enough, there is no where to been seen a numerical limit on the right to bear arms. I understand your thinking about the limit issue, in fact that was my knee jerk reaction as well, but you and I are guessing. It would have been nice for information to be included in the report rather than photo opportunity for the powers that be.

I know how that there are no numerical limits in the 2nd. it just makes me cringe that the policing bodies keep track and put labels on people who have exceeded "their limits"

I know you all(well...maybe just SAMD)see me as this democrat spy, when in fact I decide on the side when I here the issue and the answers, not the competitors, but I am going to say this "load" and for everyone to cut and paste and get me watched.
I am going to buy as many weapons as I fucking please. Be it gun/knifes/swords/bats or a brake cleaner and spark lighter propelled gerbil launcher for gays. It doesn't MATTER!!! I'm going to have weapons! I don't think they will want to visit my fort when in about 12 years...I'm going to own a moat...and archers.

I don't think you are a Demo plant, you just sound like one. This is a place for diverging views. But like every Left wing radical looney that I have known, they always try to shout down any facts that collide with their misconstrued fuzzy logic. So if, this is you, wear it proudly.

Limits?

I have to argue with Reapers statement. There are several "weapons" that I would own in the story above. I also believe if you look closely there are several "weapons" that are very "comfortable" in armed conflicts around the world. But that isnt the issue.
The issue is about arbitrary limits set by someone who has an agenda that would disarm us entirely. They have already tried to limit the amount of ammunition a person can possess and would say you need to register as an armory for having over 2000 rounds. Damn, I have more than that in .22cal long rifle. I guess 2 bricks is just too dangerous for me to have. Im not a survivalist, but a good deal on ammo is hard to resist. I also believe that in hard times that firearms and ammunition are probably more valuble than money or gold. There I go...rambling on... Or maybe just preaching to the choir....lol.
