az handgun question

ok i have a quick question and im not really getting any clear answers through research.
i live in az and i want to buy a hand gun. problem is, im only 18. what im wondering is whether or not i would legally be able to buy one through private sales. i know to buy one from any body or place with a ffl you have to be 21 but im not so sure about the latter.
any help is greatly apprecieted

18 USC 922(x)(1) says "It shall be unlawful for a person to sell, deliver, or otherwise transfer to a person who the transferor knows or has reasonable cause to believe is a juvenile a (a) handgun; or (b) ammunition that is suitable for use only in a handgun. Subsection (x)(5) says For purposes of this subsection, the term "juvenile" means a person who is less than 18 years of age.

So there's federal statute that only applies to those under 18

ARS 13-3109A says Except as provided in subsection C of this section, a person who sells or gives to a minor, without written consent of the minor's parent or legal guardian, a firearm, ammunition or a toy pistol by which dangerous and explosive substances may be discharged is guilty of a class 6 felony.

If you are 18, you are not a minor in Arizona, so by this, a private sale or gift of a handgun is perfectly legal, but as with any question that has the potential for leading to an illegal action, you should consult the state Attorney General's office before actually doing anything.
