If you are talking about the caliber .380, in general, many people agree it has marginal performance as a self defense round. That being said, I would rather have a .380, than a .32. .25, or .22.
If you are talking about the Beretta models that are chambered for .380, I have not heard bad reports about their performance. If you are talking about that particular pistol, and feel you cannot carry anything larger, I would recommend looking at several small 9mm or .40 S&W pistols.
If you are talking about a .380 size Barrette, it will not hold much hair.

Too old to fight, Too old to run, guess that's why I carry a gun! "would someone show this asshole the way out of town".[Rabbi Avram Belinski-aka "The Frisco Kid"]
