Best Gunfighter ever? My pick...John Wesley Hardin

I've also heard he had to fan the hammer on his gun, because he removed the triggers for speed!

Hickock because he

was so meticulous taking care that his loads were fresh. I read that he unloaded then reloaded with fresh powder every day.

ryo's picks would be:

wyatt earp, bat masterson, wild bill hickok just too hard to pick between them plus earp and masterson outlived the wild west days and long into the 20th century.

Best gunfighter ever

The assumption is that the best comes from the "old west". The border patrol agents of the 30, 40s, and 50, saw an incredible amount of combat with smugglers, outlaws, Mexican bandits, and even Mexican soldiers. I'm betting Charlie Askins or Bill Jordan could whip any of the previous picks. I'll go with Bill Jordan

Bill Jordan

my 2nd pick(now i get 2),runaway, jordan was a Marine.

Skeeter skelton was once asked why he carried a s&w mexican style with the trigger guard removed, making it very dangerous.

He replied "if it wasn't dangerous,i wouldn't carry it".

was a Marine and then a Border Patrol agent. Damn it, now I'm thinking Rex Applegate or Jim Cirillo. It's too difficult a question.

No, ebear

While Will Jablowmi was good at hiding in the bush on his knees, and could blind people with his High-Velocity Snowball, historians agree he was always too busy getting a head too be an effective gunfighter.

Okay, I have nothing clever there. We could go all night. Well, I can't. I get too excited when I think about you and Pat McGroin

is the one still standing after the smoke clears. Wyatt Earp used a sawed off double bbl shotgun and shot them in the back, that makes him pretty good.
