Black Nitron Finish
What is the black nitron finish? Is it better than any other finish? I am probably showing my ignorance, but I have never heard of it. Thanks in advance for any info. |

It is SIG's "Completely non-reflective, Wear resistant finish that provides superior corrosion protection"
Just SIG's gimmick for finish.

HK actually had some fancy name for their finish as well. It still rusts if not cleaned. I can not speak for the SIG, but after sliding down a 200' slope of snow with an elk carcass pulling me, the HK was smothered in snow. I neglected (I know, bad clint!!) cleaning my weapon and when I got around to it, I was busy for most of the day removing rust.
