Bobcat track loader

How many of you gentlemen are familiar with the bobcat track loader? I may have an opportunity to purchase one at an extremely cheap price, but know nothing about them. How many track loader models were there in 1997 and what type? What might be the value of one with a rebuilt engine? Thanks for your help.

If you get it at a really good price and all the Hydraulics, Wiring and Motor is good, you could turn it for a decent profit. or if you have use for it, there are allot of things you can do with one, you could turn a profit that way...

Here is a link that should give you an idea. You could also call them and give them the specs and ask what they would pay you for it, give you an idea of what it is really worth. Also there is a magizine here that is free at the local 7-11's and such that has used equipment in it for sale you could check to see if you have a local publication like that...

I've found the 863 Model (wheels instead of track) 1992-1997 $ 7500 - 13,000 from dealers.

From dealers who have gone through the whole machine....

Most of the track loaders I remember where used laying road side drain pipe and stuff like that, I remember seeing a few used to dig septic tanks and such too. This was back in the 80's and 90's.

For the most part the 863's were used for grading lawns and such before sod was put down, and other landscaping jobs.

Ish, I'm not sure about the date I believe it is a 1999 model not 1997. I'm looking at having about 600 bucks invested in it. I'll get to use it at the end of this week, then I'll know what conditions the undercarriage is in.

Due to a lot of up trading is the only way I'll only have that amount of money in it. The cost is more than that, but due to profitable trades 600 cash is all I'm out

Just don't trade your guns....Just like any used car/machinery, do your due diligence and request documentation and lots of it if the seller claims overhauls, I have found that there are OVERHAULS and Krylon overhauls. I don't distrust the seller per se, you would know better than I (obviously) just be careful, the world is full of sharks, I deal with them on a daily basis.....lol

sounds like a good deal to me then. You're trading up to a cash out if you sell.

I know down here it wouldn't be around very long for sale.
