Sounds like it but I am no GS. GP or ACE should be able to confirm. I had a 250-3000 Savage that I wore slap out and that was the very symptom only it was a lever action. If you look around the base of the casing you may see a ring about a 1/16 to an 1/8" above the rim.

What is the gun chambered for and what ammo are you shooting?
I had some issues with some PMC in .223
Single shot breakover, had to slam the sumbeech across my thigh to open the breech.
Way hotter than industry standards.

make a poor mans head space gauge:place one layer of masking tape over the primer end of a loaded case.trim edges so the tape is only on the end of the case.chamber the round and attempt to close the bolt.if the bolt is easy to close then headspace is likely the problem.if the bolt wont close/or is really hard to close then headspace is likely NOT the issue.

Disclaimer-this method is a quik check but should be verified with a real headspace gauge!

You are most welcome.
Just a little advice, if I may.
If you are going to use the skillet over gas method, remove the bark and just save it for kindling. If you are going to grill over coals, just burn the bark off and have at it.
I like to build a good charcoal fire and add the mesquite, (couple of small logs).
Get the coals right and go.
Enjoy buddy!

It sounds like it could be headspace probs. Or it could maybe need a really good soaking. It could be sticking due to crud and gunk build-up. It might could be a locking lug problem too. And GP will be the tips and tricks guy!!!
