ryo is really sold on the idea of the fluted barrel. it amazing what a difference a fluted barrel make in area of strength, light weight and especially for keeping the barrel cool. ryo have brand new DPMS Panther Mini SASS with the fluted barrel and it shoots like a dream, even in the heat as it got a little bit warmer as the morning wore on. but put 300 rounds through it today and had so much fun too. not sure what it's range limit is yet, but fired the new rifle at both the 400 meter and the 600 meter gallery and at both of these distances it performed extremely well. ryo is just so please with this new rifle.

ryo got to spend all of time at the shooting galleries. also got to fire first .308 today and sugoi! this was a great experience. got to fire little brother M110 SASS. ryo now understand big difference from small caliber rifle to full caliber rifle. was very much fun to fire but was not really expecting to feel the power that was felt.

Ryo, yea a .308 kicks hard campared to a .556 or espeically a .22. I like shooting a smaller caliber more if I'm just out on the range for fun. I can shoot all day. But, a .308 leaves me a bit sore the next morning.

.308 kick

if you want to feel the kick from a .308 just shoot a Remington 760 Gamemaster.it is a pump action rifle.mine is the carbine with the 20 inch barrel and a steel buttplate, same as the FBI used for sniper rifles in the 1970's.son of a bitch is accurate as all hell but i hope you have strong shoulders and like bruises!i am thinking about putting a muzzle brake on mine so i will want to shoot it a whole lot more!

you can feel the power inside the rifle just from holding it and you can feel the overpressure from the muzzle too. it's just really powerful compare to the other weapons ryo have fire. but it was fun and a really good experience. also today had good time learning to fire new pistol. ryo just fell in love with the new Ruger 22 Charger. it's really accurate and very much fun to shoot too! am surprise at how far it shoot, but keep reminding self that it does have a 10 inch barrel. the little magazine is kind of interesting and just a little bit difficult, but not so much as to make any real difference. also was surprise it make more noise when fire than my Walther bullpup G22 make.

Why not some decent recoil pads. Or, you're practicing horizontal butt strokes?

You are right about keeping it original.I actually owned one in the seventies and really did like it(saved my ass from a fracas also). I think I had to sell it because of an overseas transfer.

I know what you mean. Once you find the one that works the best, it's easy to put up with some discomfort. I'm trying to work that out with with my Kimber 84M in .338 Federal. I'm not going to get a shot over 300meter here(unless I'm in an airplane). I just need to settle on bullet weight. And Kimber isn't offering the .338Federal caliber anymore. At least I haven't seen it on their website.
