BUMP FIRE

Ok i got a email ad for a stock the dose bump fire on AR15/M16 but the stock has to be M4 was woundering if any one has done bump fire or used any thing like this? They were at the shot show and sell the every one.The stock just fits on where the old one gose. TY

Bump firing is the act of using the recoil of a firearm to fire multiple shots in rapid succession. This process involves holding the foregrip with the non-trigger hand, releasing the grip on the firing hand (leaving the trigger finger in its normal position), pushing the rifle forward in order to apply pressure on the trigger finger from the trigger, and keeping the trigger finger stationary. The firearm will recoil and then return to its previous position after the round has been fired first resetting and then pressing forward against the trigger thereby firing successive shots.
The rapid bursts from semi-automatic firearms simulate the discharge of automatic firearms. Even though a large number of rounds are fired in rapid succession, the trigger finger initiates each discharge; therefore, fully automatic fire is not actually taking place.
A similar method can be employed with semi-automatic pistols, in which one hand holds the grip, two fingers are placed in the trigger well, and then the grip hand shoves the weapon forewards while the trigger fingers remain stationary. With revolvers, automatic fire can be simulated by using two trigger fingers firing offset.
All of techniques greatly degrade the accuracy of the firearm, due to the necessary jerking of the weapon. The techniques trade accurate aimed fire for making the noise associated with fully automatic weapons.
Devices (from complicated, specially made triggers to the low-tech rubber band) are employed in order to cause or facilitate the "bumping." However, not all such devices or modifications are legal. A famous example in the United States of America is the case of the Akins Accelerator for the Ruger 10/22. Though the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) initially allowed mechanical devices for producing rapid fire, this ruling has since been reversed and currently the device is illegal.[1]

Accelerator 10/22

Billy is friends with the guy who created the Accelerator. I've shot a Ruger with one installed and it was fun and accurate.

The AR stock your speaking of is legal at this point in time, but I am betting it will be a bad investment. Eventually the ATF will request all documentation of sales and track the owners all down and require them to turn them in or destroy them...

If you're wanting full auto (only good in combat to begin with) then save and buy one. Many cost less than a .50 cal.

No sir, he fell into that bullet... Never argue with a stupid person. They'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!!

FA vs. substitutes

I've owned or used several triggers, cranks, stocks and other gizmos that legally got a long gun to do double, triples, faux-FA, etc....HellFire, et al. Every single one of them were absolute clown shoes, and in no way accurately replicated a true full-auto (FA) weapon. None were sufficiently shootable or durable enough to remain on a gun than a day or 2.

The new wore out pretty quick on FA for me....my advice is to go to a machine-gun shoot or class, and if you still just luvvvvvvv FA, get a legit Class III sear/gun/etc.

I think the best Class III bang for the buck is SBS/SBR or a suppressor (or both!). Cheaper than FA, lasts longer, and honestly much more practical as far as end-use goes.

Lastly, ISD is absolutely correct; BATFE can make your cheapo gizmo illegal (like 6-10yrs in fed prison illegal) with a stroke of the pen and there is absolutely no recourse. Ask anyone who bought a Stryker or USAS12. It's much less likely that BATFE would do anything to existing NFA/Class III items, since refunds and other stuff would make it a downer for them.
