Campus shootings
There's a shooting on a college campus and a couple of young adults are killed. Even if none are, what do you think should be done to make the campus safer? Do you think anything can be done? http://www.gunmerchantaccount.com |

are allowing concealed carry, either by faculty or students,or both.

Every single massacre where there have been multiple victims have been in Gun Free Zones. Columbine High School, Virginia Tech, Tacoma Mall--every single one. I don't think high school students should pack, but teachers should--even if it's just a few of them per school. That would virtually eliminate high schools as killing fields. As for adult venues, let 'em concealed carry so some dickless puke would think twice before pulling his shit.

Yes Sir! I agree. It would be a total supprise for the suspect to be look'n down the bbl of a student's, or teacher's hand gun. Shoot him in both knees, and a hand, so he can remember that wounderful day he learned something in school!! He will have learned, not to run in the halls, and don't play with your petter!!!

if there are more armed law abiding citizens, the threat will be stopped much quicker. How many less people would have been killed at VT if other students were armed? Also, it will make the loony spree shooters think twice about opening fire because they know other people could be armed. Like Schuyler said "Gun Free Zones" give them a piece of mind that they'll have an uninterrupted urban hunting spree until LE arrives, which will quite a long time (especially when someone is shooting)

that I recognize is court rooms, the airport and military installations (I hit the PX up at Hill AFB once in a while). Like everyone has said, if more people were armed less people would die.

in AZ, you'll get arrested for carrying in a gun free school zone. If you read the print on the back of your CCW (at least mine) it says this permit does not grant you the right to carry a concealed weapon into establishments or other restricted areas which prohibit firearms. (not exact words, but pretty close. I'll re-type the exact text when I grab my wallet)
HampsterW
reads as follows:
"The concealed firearm permit only exempts the permit holder from three laws: carrying a concealed and loaded firearm in a vehicle; carrying a concealed firearm on your person and; carrying a loaded and concealed firearm on or about school property. All other state and federal laws still apply. Such as, you may not carry a firearm in secured areas of an airport and you may not carry a firearm in secure federal buildings. These areas should always be posted. But please be aware of these restrictions in case they are not posted."

is one of the few, if not only, states with the school zone carry right. I think all states need to adopt this exemption, especially for CCW holders. As of July 29th, AZ doesn't require a CCW to carry concealed. I'll probably re-new mine when it expires in march just because it saves the phone call during the purchasing process...just fill out the 4473 and away you go. Either way, its a step in the right direction.

to get a permit for CC, at least you know a guy has had some instruction as to the laws surrounding CC. I honestly think that the CC course here in UT could be stricter, requiring a weapon handling proficiency test at least. There were a couple of people in my class that I felt had no business carrying a gun judging from some of their comments, one kid was clearly a 'hot head'.....spooky.
OozeRat
there were some of those "hot heads" in my class too, and some others that were just plain scary looking.
HampsterW
spooky ones were getting a CC permit to avoid the background check and not to carry a weapon. I don't know if you noticed Dave but there were some scary looking characters at that last gun show.
Reaper308
there are some on this site!

I'm spooky but what can I say?...lol

I'm happy were concealed carry.. But still think it should have come on line with some proficiency training required.. Fine make it shall issue, and free.. but still have some sort of test that eliminates the group you guys are talking about from just sticking a piece in there pocket.. This could be combined with eliminating all purchase forms (other than 4473) and i think it would eliminate a lot of future problems..
On "the fighter".. this is going to be a great movie.. Ward had one of the best body punches going.. Not the "head hunter" that a lot of fighters were, but man that left (or right) to the body could take out the best.. and did.. some of the Ward Gatti fights are up there with the great Duran/Lennard/Herns fights.

Marvin Hagler,he kicked the shit out of all 3 you got listed there if i remember right, and a gentleman.
Schuyler
You get a little pamphlet printed by the state, but there is no class requirement for a concealed carry.
greg az
Hagler was good Lucky no question about it, and yep think he could have taken Ward.. Not to sure about Tommy Hearns...

I'm also glad "scary looking" isn't a negative when getting your CCP.Now in New Jersey you can get a CCP for 5.00,but they won't issue you one even so,so some Politician is trying to pass a bill that would change New Jersey to a "shall issue" state for 500.00 bucks a year,he says the state ought to profit off the current gun craze.I'd like to go to medical school and become a doctor just so i could be on the surgery team that gets to remove his head from his ass.
