Lest you misunderstand my intentions, let me make my feelings perfectly clear.
We should not need any stinking permit to carry a gun, concealed or otherwise.
We should not have to show "cause" for the need to carry a gun, concealed or otherwise.
We have a permit that our Founding Fathers gave us. It is called the Second Amendment.
I don't even care if criminals carry guns (because they will carry guns no matter what the law is) as long as YOU and I can carry a gun to balance the equation.
It is when laws are passed that restrict law abiding citizens from carrying weapons to protect themselves that the balance of power shifts into the hands of criminals and the State. Legislators and law enforcement officials who vote against the right of the law abiding to carry a gun-- or worse, initiate legislation to prevent the law abiding from owning and carrying guns are violating the oath they swore to uphold the Constitution and are deliberately shifting the balance of power directly into THEIR hands and the hands of criminals. Make no mistake about it, THIS is the litmus test for who you can trust in public office and law enforcement.
So even though you shouldn't need a permit to carry a gun concealed or otherwise, in order to remain "law abiding" you better secure a Concealed Weapon Permit.
