Caught in the Crossfire
In a ritual as predictable as hunting season, it's another election year and people are once again gunning for the NRA. Only this time the powerful gun-rights group and "bête noire" of the left is taking friendly fire -- from activists on the right who are growing increasingly impatient with the NRA for taking stands at odds with the rest of the conservative movement. Where do you stand on this issue? http://www.gunmerchantaccount.com |

I'm missing you buddy.. what stand is the NRA taking that is out of step with the majority of conservatives.. I thought they were doing a good job of supporting both the "tea party" and the base of the GOP..Fill me in on this please..

The NRA has given Harry Reid a good rating because of his various stances supporting gun ranges, etc. There's a movement now to encourage people to drop out of the NRA because of this. The leaders of the movement (a very intense group, it seems) say that the NRA should not be a single issue group, but should back all "conservative" positions, and all conservative candidates. From what I've read (and it's been quite a bit), the leaders of the movement would seem to support Tea Party candidates, and strictly Christian conservative viewpoints.

Tracer i had forgotten (was a tad distracted during this period) we had a gentleman who came in here about 6 weeks or so who brought us up to speed on this.. (sheesh how could i forget)
Herk right... I don't think Reed is going to garner many (if any) conservative votes.. and some serious question remain about the wisdom of supporting Reed period.. The NRA does such great work. the whole issue was a surprise to me..
