Cigarettes

What's up with cigarettes?
Can't keep them lit.
I know they are puting some chem
in them to make them go out for
fire safety but what is it and
how much faster will we get cancer?
Is this an Obama trick to kill off
all the smokers real fast?

Obozo smokes.

Like the rest of the shit in tobacco ain't going to kill ya?
Remember, Cancer cures smoking.
I quit in 1976, because they tasted terrible to me. 3 packs a day of Marlboros for 20 years.
I would love to have one every morning with that first cup of coffee, but I don't. I'll just wait for tomorrow to see if I still want it.

Cigarets

CharlesW this has been going on for some time. I hate it. I lay one down for just a few seconds & it goes out, so I have to relight it. At this rate, I'll use more lighters than I do cigarets.
Like SamD, I could quite, but I'm not going to. I've smoked steadily since I was 14. If they kill me, what the fuck, I'm eventually going to die anyway.

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man. (Mark Twain).

I got very sick several years ago, maybe flu. Tobacco tasted awful, could not stand to be near it. Now I can't figure out why people would want to be near me while I was a smoker. The smell of people who smoke almost chokes me. I forced my wife to stop and we're saving hundreds of $$ per year that she can squander at Wal*Mart.

One upside to tobacco, it got that commie asshole news bastard from Canada that got the world to thinking Rodney King was a "Motorist". I'd liked to have been able to watch the dick sucker as cancer ate his lungs. The sorry mother fucker

Lost my Pop to lung cancer.. Mom to COPD.. was telling Cutter earlier that my brother who came up to visit has COPD so bad hes on a LOT of co2.. Wife smokes cause i can't make her stop.. I'm a typical alpha male just like most of you guys, but making someone stop is damn hard.. They have to want to. It's hard, i smoked like everybody else, and stoping was one of the hardest things ive ever done. Also one of the best.

my wife has macular degeneration so she lost her driving license. I bought her some $100 per pack medicine and said do or die darlin' 'cause the smell was driving me out of the house.
It was a true blessing that I became so very sick that I could not go near tobacco again.
On the other hand, I am still pissed off that the cabal of attorneys general and judges colluded to impose an unconstitutional tax on tobacco with the tobacco companies collecting the tax and handing it over to the state governments. they did it with tobacco they can do it to any thing.

OK my 2 cents...

I think I got 2 cents. After all the cig taxes I might not. I'm with ecaman and charles on this one. I go thru more lighter fluid and flints than I do cigs. I will agree it is a bad habit but I would hate for you all to think of me as a quiter!LOL and how are ya greg??

Cutter, you and i remember, maybe a couple of the other guys might, that cigs in se asia were (you youngsters wont believe this)5 cents for unfilterd, then went up to a whole dime a pack.. course they were a lot cheaper in the states than now, but still tax then was like 80% of the price.
The comments about how they go out is interesting, never heard that. I do know that putting the burden (tax) on the old vets really gets makes me mad. I also remember a interview with O'barry where he was asked if he still smoked (this was a couple months ago) he said its been hard, but i promised myself i wouldnt smoke in the white house..
So how do you respect a president who lies. I could have cared less about brother bill getting a "lewisnski", a non issue that i sorta thought was ok, but when he lied about it that all changed.

You can't hardly make reservations or
rent a car with out a card. We now
have a Master Card Debit Card which
has direct withdrawal and still is
a credit card. Best of both worlds

of paying twice for anything. Pay the retailer for the doodad, next 12 months pay the C.C. companies for the same doodad. Never made much sense to me.
I have run a balance over 3 months 5 years ago, kitchen fire repair waiting for the insurance check. I could not wait for the money and the interest was not really very much.

for those that missed the thread, cutter and snake were talking about shock collars.. OK.. We have a minpin thats a barker.. nasty little irratating bark, great and loving pup, but... ok so we decide were going to break it. stop at one of the pet stores and get a shock collar... go home put the batterys (those little round puppys) in it. and then think, ok i can't do this to our little Brownie (yeah i know, the daughter named it.. and the dogs not even brown...whatever) so i think i'll just try this out on me first before i strap it on the dog.. So i get it all set up and im sitting at our counter on a barstool. This picture alone is sorta odd, here i am perched on a barstool holding this thing to my neck trying to bark.. OK, so im getting nothing.. i let go with a real LOUD yelp.
SUCKER KNOCKED ME OFF THE BAR STOOL!! and that is a for real fact.
It has sat in the drawer for the past 5 years.

I smoked for 13 years

One night on my last deployment, laying on a cot in a patrol base, thinking about the boy in my wife's belly, I realized I didn't want my son to grow up in that environment, so I handed what was left of my pack to the guy next to me, told him the rest of the carton was in my ruck, and haven't smoked one in two years. However, if I ever catch my son smoking, I'm going to punch the little fucker in the face, take his pack, and start smoking again, a horrible failure as a parent, but a happy smoker once again. I loved smoking, I still think it's cool, and regardless of how gross some may think it is, I've gotten laid because I smoked. It's a social thing, and you meet people in smoking areas that you probably wouldn't otherwise talk to.

reminds me of an altercation i got into with a cop, didn't fare well for me as the cop tried to scrape off some asphalt from the road using my face.So i go to jail bloody face and all, there's a couple guys playing cards, smoking,i grab the guys cigs, pop one out, light up,pocket the pack and go find a top bunk.Couple minutes go by and the guy who i took the cigs from is standing by the bunk and says"can i have my cigs back?".I said "sure" popped a couple cigs out of the pack, handed him the rest and he dissapeared.I was a nonsmoker until i went into that cell.

lucky

my bro was a state trooper 30 yrs in
Texas and he told me never say anything
to a cop except yes sir, no sir and
thankyou sir, if you have a problem with
the cop tell it to the judge
One night I got a ticket for a lp light
burned out, I told the cop Thankyou
Sir and like to got busted for it.
Being too nice alerts them I guess.
He held me 30 minutes checking me and I
finally told hime I had to go, either
arrest me or call his sgt. He got real smart
and I told him it was time to call his sgt.
He finally ask why he needed his sgt and I
said he's my brother

real world cops

I don't think thier quite as tough as they were and have thier hands tied with video and ACLU lawyers (hate that word) But for every Rodney King that gets public knowledge theres four more that don't. I don't have much use for them as anything other than secretaries who record what happens. I'm more well trained, well equipped, and have better experience than most cops anyway. There are cops out there who are worthy of my respect, but there are also Burger King employees who are also worthy. I guess there are those who need them, but I can't see being one of those.
