Ive been reading instead of commenting for awhile now.. (self improvement 101 huh) ok..Stop laughing.. Odd how a little adversity brings out the best in people.. It did here..

I "REALLY" don't want to bring up what should be (and is) a pretty much closed subject.. The air has cleared and were all in consensus about how M & Q, and Sam and Reap feel.. and all's well with our little world of gunslot..

What i am saying, is that the events of this morning were great, they cleared the air, and for me have just reinforced why i enjoy the site and all of your companionship.. I can pretty much guarantee that had the same thing happened on other sites, the end result would not have been anywhere as positive as they were here..

one of the major differences in our little "club" and other sites i have seen is we have a good balance of interaction.. Not to much social stuff.. No "chat room" type thing.. all our comments are out in the open.. When we do use the pm thing its unusual.. least i think for most of us, but still there if we need it..

Were a lot more complex than just the normal stereotyping thing we play around with.. We all kid Greasy, and he kids himself about being a "red neck". Yet we've all read posts by Greasy that are were as insightful as our resident MENSA member and guessing reaps definitive wine and cheese type, our demented but brilliant brother Schuyler.

Obviously there's only a couple of you guys on his level in terms of the written word.. Yet i know damn well we enjoy and respect our resident "rednecks" posts just as much.. and not just because of the gunsmith "skill set" either..

Think about the individuals we have.. Take a look at the membership roll at the bottom and consider this.. Everyone on here who is a regular is a winner (ebear..so damn glad your back... God love ya pervmeister) I want to hit on just a couple of things while im being "open".. or as my good friend Ecaman says.. "shit'n a bit close to the house". yep i am Bob..For a reason.

Snake..you were in need of "reassurance" earlier.. Young man you have progressed from a smart ass (less than straight forward) kid.. To an honest young man that we all admire.. You stepped up.. Took your lumps.. apologized.. and are now just as valued as anyone here. You have matured into a young man were all proud to know..

I'm not going to get carried away here. (or shit any closer to the house) I could list all of you, and why im proud to know you, and how much i enjoy your posts. Matter of fact im really making an effort NOT to. No way i can mention one of you guys and not slight anyone else..

I don't want to sound like a suck up, and I hope you guys have enough respect for me to know that i might ramble or run on (ya think), but the NO BS thing is an absolute with me.. I told bub when he joined that if we had an unwritten rule that was it. So that being said.. I think if you could find one reason this place works.. Its Sam.. Old fart will get a swelled head if i go on, but for those of us who spend a lot of time here...and from that same group.. Thanks Sam..

I'm telling you guys.. Something special has happened on this site.. Don't know how, or why it works for us regulars.. But no way in Gods green earth should a group of guys all "click" and appreciate each other the way we do..

Fact..There is not one current member who i don't look forward to opening and reading... NOT ONE...That's an honest to God fact.. and that's pretty amazing when you think about it.. I don't know how this has all happened.. But i sure as hell am glad it did..

Now the only problem is I do NOT want this to turn into some limp wrist.. gosh you to, pat each other on the back, group hug, love ya bro, type of thing.. The reason it works is cause we all feel the same way with OUT that crap..so gentleman's agreement on how to close the issue..

Lyle said.. (Vaq.. Lord help me im using brother Lyle for guidance).. i really am laughing again at that whole sick wonderful bit of life CD caused.. OK.. Lyle said in his goofy ass but on the money way.. are ya are arent ya.... So bottom line.. when the comment line comes up.. Lets skip the group hug and...

If you love and enjoy this place.. all the monitors.. especially our benevolent dictator for life, all the odd and strange. (ok REALLY strange) members.. The normal types like Hamp, and Clint, the weird and wonderful like CW, and Daisy. Those who serve like has the runs and pkato.. no ALL those who serve..

All the AK fiends, the AR fiends the glock fiends, the dinasours like Ecaman and self, the wonderful posts of LLE, The vets, and those who honor them like Bud.. All the members who make this site what it is.. Raff, Shak, Built tough, both our luckys, (God bless ya TBH) cali Mike, bigshot, brad, photobear, ozze, cool breeze, kinclald the RX, Nitris, sytasyn-syn, warner, dollpatz, nobile, metcalf, armysgt, aimstr8, jay, azarm,.. all ive mentioned earlier,..and all ive forgotten (sorry) and especially again the two dudes who stay out of the joint and just laugh at us..M&Q.

If my friends these guys, and this place matter.. Then rather than acting like a bunch a wazz's.. (seems Im doing that well enough by myself).. a simple YEP.. is all that's needed to show you're in agreement..

You hit on something that I think we'll agree on, and that's that this site is unique in that we have so many guys with different interests, different backgrounds, different ages and different points of view, but on Gunslot we're all together, we get along and treat each other with respect (well, at least the amount of respect that's deserved). The exception is when BS comes out - nobody here has any tolerance for that (maybe it's because none of us are politicians or lawyers).
When I'm on this site, I'm among people whom I can respect - and in so many ways that's damned rare these days.

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man. (Mark Twain).

Wonderful sermon this am, very inciteful, albeit a little short on compliments to El Presidente, LOL joking as he blushes. I just throw shit out on the wall to see what sticks and some does, to my amazement.
This is truly a band of brothers and if we had to fight in the trenches, I would, proudly, want to be shoulder to shoulder with any of you barring a very few exceptions. And these shit disturbers know who they are.
So, that said, let's continue to have fun and remain friends.
Next round is on the house, The Bar Is Open!

Hey man thanks for putting me in the same category as Hamp. I am a smartass in competition with ebear, runaway and whoever. But it is an interesting day to log on and read what all you terrorists are spouting.

And bring a great women home to help raise the kids..

Hows the POS coming.. Assuming your getting the kids involved with the project huh.. It's a source of pride to me that all three of the girls can change a tire, and check thier own fluids and tire pressure.. and do it right to

Last time this came up one of them was talking about a guy she worked with who after changing the tire just went round the circle tightening the bolts.. the girls know how to "cross tighten".. and bet money yours do as well..

Got a quick "mormon" story for ya.. Yesterday a couple kids were doing the mission thing in the area.. we don't have a lot of neighbors so wife and i are watching this action out the kitchen window...ok bored, and nosey..anyway one old gal.. sorta disgusting she starts waving them off.. actually waving her arms "shooing" them away.. wife calls her a mean old bitch.

so when they headed back, i went out to talk to them.. Let them know all geezers arent assholes sorta thing.. this part is neat.. im trying to be positive.. tell them guys I've always heard that one of the things about your "mission" deal is it prepares you to handle rejection..

kids laugh.. thier pretty young of course.. one says yeah.. and my dad told me this is a good way to learn marriage counseling...what its like when you get your wife mad at you.. told the boy he had a smart dad..

so the kids had to go with her and I am NOT allowed to go shooting
without them. The new mrs lets me go whenever I want and most of
the time comes with.

The POS is comming along, bought and dragged home a "cherry
picker" to hoist out the short block which will be headed to the
machine shop soon. My oldest boy is helping me but the other two
are not really interested.

MORMONS: I have the "mission president's" house two doors down
from me so the missionaries are constantly coming and going, it took
me about two years to get them to stop coming to my door to recruit
me. There were a few times when NO was not taken for an answer
and I had to get downright rude with them to get them to leave. My
dad always just told them he was going to get his shotgun and that
usually dispersed them pretty quickly, pop hated them. All in all most
of them are good kids, some are just pushier than others.

But first did you guys see the two candidates for the height of hypocrisy award on this.

First is the ultra Lib Seattle group (Schuyler.. we are all so sorry brother) that decides to jump on the boycott wagon..makes a big "photo op" of the boycott.. yep no Seattle business with AZ.. of course that's with the exception of the photo radar income maker for the city.. oh yeah and that's the only contract they have..

Second is the AG and HS both saying they sure knew how bad this bill was.. Man it just makes thier little hearts throb.. oh yeah.. seems actually reading 1070 is something neither Holder or Napolitano has done.. Fox has a montage (pray for spell check) on those who are so fired up, and then thier admission they haven't read the bill..

Ok.. What we do is send a letter to the Jehovah witness home office "from the state of California" we invite them to hold a special "open house" in California.. We send them a list of all the registered Dems in Cali (know mike was scared for a couple) and request a "visit" to all of them.. Only problem is i don't think even the JW's would take em..

whose police force was just filmed kicking a Hispanic guy in the head after they stopped him as he was walking home. Talk about hypocrites.

For the record I don't live in Seattle, just like greasy. "But I can see Seattle from my house!" Well, I used to be able to 15 years ago if I stood on the roof, but the trees grew higher.

all my fault

as the resident from the Uniformed Seattle Socialist Regime, I take responsibility for raping the land, loving my carbon footprint, and killing as much meat as i can legally. But like a salmon swimming up a strong current, you can only get so far with these enlightened hypocrites.
