I am thinking of buying a Colt Combat Elite or a Colt Government Special Combat. If anybody has any knowledge about these two, I'd appreciate your input. I know the Colt Gov Speical Combat is about 500 dollars more than the Combat Elite and is supposed to be run throught the Colt custom shop. In my "research" I have found forums where he Combat Elite is claimed to have a match grade barrell, and then on others it does not. I'm wondering is the Special Combat worth the incrased price? THe website claims it is fully accurized, however, I'm not sure what that means. Anyway, if anybody knows about these things I'd appreciate your input. Thanks.

the combat elite i have is a great gun and is just as good as any other 1911 i've ever fired.

Yes, Springers and kimbers are fine weapons. I've never shot a springer, but I have a kimber eclipse target and it shoots beautifully. I just thought it was time to have a colt. Any excuse to buy a new gun I guess.
